Tivo Series 2 Replacement Remote Control

If you're used to using a standard Tivo Series 2/3 remote, this one will take a little getting used to. The TV Power and TV Input buttons are below the Instant Replay and Skip buttons instead of in the upper left corner of the keypad, and the Window/Aspect button is moved up to where the TV Power button should be. The slider normally used to switch between controlling 2 Tivos selects between controlling the Tivo and controlling the TV (which means only that the Channel Up/Down button controls the TV tuner when the slider is pushed to the right.) You actually can control two Tivos with this remote but it's complicated; you must reprogram the remote each time you want to switch devices. This product does, however, control the TiVo without requiring you to point the emitter directly at the DVR and all other keys have familiar positions and functions.

I bought this not knowing if it would work with my Direct TV Tivo box. It works perfectly, if anything my Tivo seems a bit more responsive to remote commands. This remote is a metallic grayish=silver not the black as pictures.

This was a great value @ $9.99 compaired to prices double that and more on Ebay at the time.

This remote was exactly like the one that came with our system. Service was very good from this third party seller and we are very happy.

This is my third remote for my Humax TIVO box. Don't get me wrong, the remote works fine and is sturdy enough for regular use. Unfortunately, my young nephew has sharp fingernails and after a while the buttons look like they've been gnawed on.
Could you make them in solid steel?

I ordered this "replacement remote" for my Tivo....but it doesn't work. You can't read the numbers on it and even though it listed it to be in good condition, it most definately wasn't. Guess I learned a valuable lesson...ask for better pictures!

This is actually a DirectTV replacement controller, not a Tivo OEM controller. A little lighter and significantly more slippery than the original Series 2 controller from Tivo - probably due to component count reduction and a change in plastic formulation. But it's 100% compatible with my Tivo.

This is a fine replacement for my borked Tivo remote. As another poster mentioned, some buttons are in different places.

The one that keeps biting me is the TV power button; it is right below the "8 second rewind" button and once in a while i turn the tv off by accident.

I can't imagine what made directv/tivo put the power button there on this version of the remote, but otherwise this is fine. When I bought it was much less expensive than the tivo branded remote, which made it a lot easier to swallow.

Remote is identical to original in every way and functionality is perfect.. cant go wrong with this product

Took a while, seems long I guess when your remote is kaput. But everywhere I looked for this remote they had the price jacked up way overpriced: $30, $40 and more. Thank you for a good price ($9.95)on my old DTV tivo box remote.

Just so happy, our old remote bit the dust, didn't want to mess with a new universal remote. I got my new Tivo Series 2 remote today, plopped the batteries in and we are back in business:) Awesome!
