TMG (trimethylglycine) is an excellent supplement.

Dr. McCully wrote the excellent "The Heart Revolution" but did not even mention his research and discovery of the powerful benefits of TMG. He deserves the Nobel Prize in medicine yet the establishment has ignored and even ostracized him. Instead they shouted to the skies about the dangers of cholesterol. Well, it turns out those with low cholesterol (yes, LOW) are more likely to suffer heart attacks! How could cholesterol, a compound that the body (liver) makes for so many uses, ever have been classified as a health hazard?! In addition to all its other uses in the body, cholesterol is a first-line ANTI-OXIDANT, and so the body produces more of it when the diet is low in the main ones (Vitamins A, C, E, selenium).

TMG comes in tablets or capsules of 500, 750 and 1000 mg. This one is 500mg. (Do not take DMG or dimethylglycine.) Only take trimethylglycine or TMG. As Dr L Wilson writes: TMG is a vitamin-like substance. It functions as an energy booster, methyl donor and more. TMG is also called betaine because it was first isolated from sugar beets, so is relatively cheap; the powder form is cheaper but tastes bad. TMG is not the same as betaine hydrochloride, however. It can and should be added to most nutritional balancing programs, usually in doses of 1000-3000 mg daily.

He adds: "Some people need even more, especially when moving through healing reactions. Most people seem to need it and benefit greatly from it. It does not seem to interfere with the rest of a nutritional balancing program, which is very unusual... Some people need up to 4500 mg daily, at least for a while. Fortunately, if one takes too much, usually one does not feel well.

You don't get that weird feeling from it. Also if you are taking other things that affect serotonin, I would be weary of any tingly feeling you get, as it might be necessary to cut back. I have used Sceletium from time to time and it helps, if that is what you are going for. Don't use anything else and be careful of messing yourself up, because it can alter natural body response, and creates dependency (with bad results; any-time you take an anti-depressant, it can have opposite intended results if you aren't careful.) Try to become self-aware of any conditions.

Don't like the fact that a label is placed over the lot numbers and manufacturer date. You cannot tell if they are expired. Removing the label is almost impossible without tearing the label underneath.

It seems to work, I'm feeling better and have a more positive attitude. I'd recommend it to one and all. Just wish they would change the caps to pop open.

Our doctor recommended this for my wife and advised she could take up to 6 capsules a day. It does seem to help her sleep although it does not act by making her sleepy. This you take in the morning. She is taking 4 capsules in the a.m. She says she has noticed she sleeps a little better when using TMG.

To test it's effectiveness, she went on of it for several days and had more fitful sleep, so we'll give it 4 Stars, ("I like it").
