Product Description

Forensic specialist Kyra Elliott faces the challenge of her career. From scattered skeletal remains she must identify a serial killer who's gotten away with murder, and his young victims. Help comes in the tall, dark, handsome form of an old friend--and secret crush--FBI investigator Joshua Richards. Considered a loose cannon, Josh has been "loaned" to Kyra, and he doesn't like it. Yet as they close in on the killer, Kyra has to trust her hostile partner with her life--and her heart.

I freely admit I am not a fan of "suspense romance" right up front, even the "Love Inspired" variety.

It must be awfully hard to generate a believable romance around child killing. Author Lynn Bulock gets credit for creating a heroine who really wants to help the world and she puts elbow grease behind those desires. Her writing flowed nicely and she gets props for character development. Overall, I had no issue with her writing, and I even like the part where the heroine tells a teenager in trouble how God is crazy in love with each of us no matter what we choose to do. Having said that, it was especially creepy to have input from the child murderer scattered in the book, but, hey, that's probably why some other readers like it. This was an easy choice to throw in the recycle bin, in spite of the writer's good effort. Sorry, I can't recommend it much.
