OK, full disclosure, I was on the cookbook committee, so I am biased. But, we worked very hard and tested each one of these recipes, and they are all excellent! Over 800 recipes were submitted, and only 300 made it.

Here's why I love this cookbook (and why over 10,000 have been sold so far!): I love to cook, and I love my hometown of Omaha - this cookbook combines the best of both worlds. It includes wonderful tidbits about famous (and not-so-famous) Omaha restaurants, plus the recipes are truly gourmet, without being too stuffy. Many current restaurants contributed recipes, which have been fun to try. The photographs and menus from long-closed restaurants have been an interesting look inside Omaha's history. And I've solved the only problem the cookbook presents (display on the coffee table or on my cookbook shelf?) by buying two!

I have over 30 junior league cookbooks and this is in my top 3 favorite! I love how this cookbook combines both individual recipes and restaurant recipes. My favorite thing to make is the Bishops Chocolate Pie page 194.... Whenever I take this pie someplace the pie plate is empty when I go home.

I also love the appetizers in the cookbook as they are creative and simple to make. I highly recommend this cookbook to add to your collection.

I grew up in Omaha and had fond memories of many of the old restaurants and pictures in the book. I think it was a very nice overview of Omaha now and in the past. And, there are many wonderful recipes in the book as well.I bought another copy for my brother and his family and they enjoyed it very much. Omaha has some very fine eateries and always has. Food means a lot in the Midwest and Omaha had many ethnic groups sharing their wonderful traditional dishes in their restaurants. I could even remember the songs from the commercials that I grew up with as I perused the different restaurants presented in the book. It is a very unique recipe book and I recommend it highly.
