A great product--you WILL use it!,
This review is from: Toastmaster 200 Waffle Baker (Kitchen)
Afraid of getting another small appliance that you never use? If so, this waffle baker is for you! The waffle baker stores easily (either flat or on its side), sets up in seconds, and takes only a brief wipe with a paper towel to clean. When you plug it in, it takes several minutes to heat up, with an indicator light that goes out when the unit is ready. The light comes back on when you pour in the batter and similarly goes out when the waffle is done, making for perfect waffles that are completely non-stick every time. It takes a bit of practice to learn exactly how much batter to pour in, but once you figure it out, you'll never have any leakage and all of your waffles will be uniform. I've used the iron with both homemade batter and batter from a mix, and it works very well with either type. The only downside I've found is that once the waffles are made, it's best to eat them immediately, as the bottoms start to get soggy the longer they sit. Luckily, this is rarely a problem, because we always DO eat them right away! This is a great, inexpensive, easy-to-use product that I recommend highly.

Waffles Make Happy Mornings!,

This Waffle Maker is WONDERFUL. Makes large Belgian Waffles that hold lots of any kind of topping even fruit like strawberries, because they are nice and deep. It has a light is great so you don't have to guess if it is hot enough. Easy to clean and wipe up because of it being non stick it is hassel free. One of my favorite and most used small appliances. Experiment with many toppings and waffle recipes...my family loves them for even dinner!

You Get What You Pay For,

I got this for $9.77 at Target. I figured, even if I can get 2 decent waffles out of it before it breaks, it would have been cheaper than going out to a diner and spending $5 on just one!My husband was skeptical when I brought it home, but once he tasted a hot steamy waffle, he was hooked as well. Pancakes simply do not compare! We are now waffle-making junkies. We eat them for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, whenever! It doesn't take much to please us. We use simple pancake mix (following the waffle directions of course). I've gotten so lazy I now will only use COMPLETE pancake mix (the just add water and oil kind). First the PROS: Price can't be beat. The indicator light is very useful in telling you when it is ready for batter and when the waffle is done. I have found it to be remarkably accurate. It's lightweight - I guess it could be stored upright, haven't tried it as yet. Nonstick coating is great. Decent sized waffle with deep creases (especially if you press down). Waffles cook quickly. The only downside is that the waffles don't come out particularily crisp, though I have found that if you press down on the top while baking, it helps. Also, I've found that one side usually comes out crisper than the other. Perhaps this is normal in the wafflemaker world. Another thing - I use nonstick butter spray to coat it before pouring the batter and I've noticed that it seeps out all the way through the front of the lid. Kinda gross but not enough to stop using it! Bottom line: if you want a cheap alternative to going out for waffles, I think this is fine. If you're not too picky about crispness, this is fine. Even if you think you will only use it once every so often, buy it, it will save you money. You will become addicted however to making waffles because it's just so darn easy and good!

I have been looking for a replacement waffle maker for a week now! What a joke seeing ones for $50.00 and up!! It only makes waffles for pete sake!! Then I ran across this inexpensive beauty...no fancy shmansy buttons or beeps...and cooks quickly too. This makes a killer 7in. waffle NICE AND THICK!!!...and the added ridge to catch any spillover batter is great...it beats the heck out of my last one. At any price this is the best one I found...simple and effective...thanks!

Hi,I would like to say that my waffle maker was delivered in record time and that it was what I expected no surprises. I would recommend this avenue to purchasing items.

Best waflles,

I received a Toastmaster waffle baker, model 252 about 23 years ago, it still works well but it got dropped on the handle, so now it is difficult to manage. I came online to find another one just like the one I had. So I'm please to find another one. When the kids were home I would make waffles to get them out of bed.

I have had this exact model for over 30 years. On countless occasions it has made perfect waffles. I won it at a raffle in 1975 when I was 20 years old. It still makes great waffles but the cord finally gave out. I was thrilled to see that this make and model is still available. I am definitely purchasing a new one and hope it lasts 30 years like my old one. I will be 80 years old by then. Yikes! Great product!

We use this waffle iron all the time and it continues to give us great waffles that are perfectly done. Easy to use and the waffles do not stick, ever! The only drawback is that it is not that easy to clean, but I don't know any waffle iron that is! Since nothing ever sticks, it makes it easier to clean than others.

I used my new waffle iron for the first time today. The light doesn't work so you have to guess when it is warm enough and when the waffles are done.

...Now, I don't know, maybe it was just the particular one that I bought but the waffles were coming out perfect on the bottom but on the top, it was as if the iron wasn't even on. When I went to return it at the store, I saw another 3 people in line to do the same thing, so I'm thinking someone forgot to plug something into the right spot on this waffle maker while it was going through the assembly line.Hope you all have better luck than me with this! |
