Wish I could give ZERO stars!,

Piece of crap. And that is being kind. Like everyone else reviewing this popper, it was horrible. Dreadful design. Managed to only pop half the corn placed in it. The rest just flew out unpopped. I used it once and returned it.
Given the consistancy of the complaints with this unit, the manufacturer either never tested it or didn't care that it was bad news. Either way, it was bad enough to make me never buy another toastmaster product.

Horrible popcorn popper... but GREAT coffee roaster,
By
This review is from: Toastmaster 6202 Hot Air Popcorn Popper (Kitchen)
For the love of whatever deity you hold sacred, do NOT attempt to pop popcorn in this thing. The fan is too strong, the chamber is too short, and as the kernels get ready to pop, they'll get blown into the bowl and pop there. To say it's an exciting experience is putting things much too mildly. Our dogs would have had a field day eating all the popcorn that fell on the floor if they hadn't made a quick exit when the kernels started shooting across the room.
That said, this machine is quite possibly the best way to get started roasting your own coffee at home. It's really simple; just put 1/4 pound of coffee in the popping chamber, put on the lid, turn it on, and a couple of minutes later you have absolutely THE freshest coffee you can get anywhere. For more details on this (and a source for green coffee beans), there's a site called Sweet Maria's. Go look them up. This machine is similar to the vaunted (and discontinued for decades) West Bend Poppery/Poppery II. It has decent wattage, and the fan isn't behind a screen. If you're looking to get into coffee roasting, you won't find a more economical way to do it than with this popper.

I wish I would have looked this up before I bought it. It truly sucks. More than half the popcorn didn't pop, and I felt caught in some kind of insane popcorn crossfire while it was popping - shot popcorn all over the place, popped and unpopped. It practically only makes a handful per refill. Horrid.

DONT BUY! YOU WILL RUN OUT OF THE KITCHEN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!,

I thought I would write a review for this product as I read many reviews when purchasing items. Well, all I can say is that I have owned about 3 popcorn poppers in my life and if I could give ZERO stars for this one I would. It was unbelievably bad. In order to get 6 cups of popcorn I had to fill the chamber 3 times!!! After about a minute to warm up it starts shooting 3-10 HOT kernels at a time at your face, counters, walls and floors...NOT the bowl! Make sure to wear shoes or you are in for a scalding you wont forget! This popcorn popper is a joke. It is already in the trash and I got it for a christmas gift. It is truly dangerous. Once it finally starts to pop the corn and a few land in your bowl the unpopped kernels shoot out and cause the already popped corn to be ejected from the bowl. This is just worthless and makes a huge mess. We used it one last time last night just so that we could all crack up because it was such a bad piece of equipment. DO NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY! Get the presto microwave or presto air popper instead! Trust me you will be sorry if you purchase this popper!

Toastmaster Popcorn Popper,

This popper is horrible. At least 50 percent of the kernals fly out (and I mean fly!) of the machine and all over the room without popping. Not recommended at all.

Horrible appliance,
By A Customer
This review is from: Toastmaster 6202 Hot Air Popcorn Popper (Kitchen)
This popper is flat out one of the worst designed products I've ever purchased in my life.1. The popper shoots hot unpopped kernels out of it. The kernels will either burn your hands, or pop when they hit the bowl throwing popcorn all over the place. 2. In the 4 or so times I've used it, it popped less than half of the kernels. The unpopped kernels wind up in the bowl or on the floor. 3. It is impossible to get the popcorn to go into the bowl. They fly out of the popper at such a high speed, and get thrown all over. Save your money on this appliance, I'm returning mine for a refund.

A piece of junk,

This popcorn popper is such a piece of junk that I can't believe that Amazon.com sells it. When it is on, hot unpopped corn and popped corn fly all over the counter and floor. Also, less than half of the kernels put in the chamber even pop. Don't waste your money on it!!

Burning popcorn!!!!,
By Mick (Omaha, NE) - See all my reviews

Okay, I bought this air popper yesterday at a local retailer and it's being returned tomorrow. And I'm upset enough by my crummy experience that I'm going online to write a review & warn others. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! I wanted to make cinnamon popcorn and caramel popcorn and I prefer to use air popped corn as opposed to traditionally popped corn as the cinnamon and caramel seem to stick to dry, air popped corn better. Anyway, I started my project this evening and knew I would probably need to pop 5 batches of corn to get the 10 quarts needed for just one recipe. This thing started smoking on batch number 5. I quickly shut it down, turned on the fan, and poured out the burned corn... or at least what I could get - I had to use the end of a wooden spoon to knock out the pieces that were stuck down in the popper. I got it cleaned out & decided to give it another try. No luck - MORE SMOKE. Two hours later the smoke has cleared, I managed to at least make the cinnamon corn with only 8 quarts of corn - very yummy, sticky, candy corn. :) But my BRAND NEW popcorn popper is dead and now I get to go through the torture of returning a defective item. Ugh. I hate doing returns but I'm much too disappointed in this product to just throw it away - I WANT A REFUND!! :) I DESERVE IT & THEN SOME! Toastmaster needs to discontinue this product if people are having these kinds of problems. My mom had a Presto air popper for years... I think someone in the family still has it... I need to find one of those - it rocked!! And over years and years of use by a popcorn loving family we never saw smoke pouring out of it.

My husband and I love popcorn. When we moved, our old trusty popcorn popper broke, so we bought the toastmaster. It is absolutely the biggest waste of money I have ever made. The machine spews popcorn (popped amd unpopped) all over the place, and wastes at least one-third if not one-half of the kernals every time we try to use it.
