Excellent for buffets or cooking at the office, campground, or workshop, this portable two-burner cooking range delivers 1,500 watts of power and looks great. A separate control adjusts each burner's heat so two foods can be cooked simultaneously at different temperatures. (Cook linguine on one burner, simmer pesto-cream sauce on the other.) The burners are solid disks for easy cleanup and measure 7-5/8 and 5-5/8 inches in diameter. Overall, the appliance is 19 inches wide by 11-1/2 inches deep by 3 inches high. I was so happy when I purchased this item for Christmas 2002!
However my initial joy gave way to great disappointment within a four week period. After a few uses, the larger of the two burners stopped working completely. I contacted Toastmaster, only to be informed that the only service center in Florida was in Orlando and shipping to send the item for repair would cost me approximately $11! Almost half the original sale price ...
I contacted Amazon and they offered to accept a return...

But by the looks of the other reviews here, I guess I did better than most. It took mine 11 months to break. Worked great (slow to heat up, but that's okay), until yesterday when it started to smell and then smoke came pouring out. After reading other comments I can see it's not worth trying to get it fixed. Now I'll need to buy another hotplate, but it definitely won't be a Toastmaster. I will never buy a Toastmaster product again. For the $40 I paid, it should have lasted a lot longer than 11 months. Don't waste your money.

I used this product for about 9 months. The large
burner failed (thermal cutout) then the temperature
control failed the next day (overheated). The unit
looks good and cooks good, but needs to be made more
reliable. At the price, its hardly worth sending in for
warranty repair / replacement even if I had saved the
receipt. I will not buy it again
