This was just about the cheapest toaster oven I came across in my search, but so far it's worked really well. This one, the TOV320, is a replacement for the older TOV200 model. I bought it mainly for cooking frozen pizzas and the like, because my regular kitchen oven isn't working. Of course a toaster oven of this size can only cook half of a 10- or 11-inch frozen pizza, but it does it really well. I've been making mine right on the wire rack, without using a pan or cookie sheet (as is sometimes recommended in the pizza instructions - though the metal broiler pan that comes with the oven can be used if you like softer crust). The pizzas cook up perfectly every time - lightly browned on the top, and a little crispy on the bottom. This oven, despite its price, seems to have a really effective thermostat that cycles the heating elements on and off during cooking, so it heats very evenly. It toasts well too. It's also very compact - even smaller than I guessed when I ordered it, but still roomy enough inside for my purposes. Some people may require a bit more interior space, both vertical and horizontal, but it fits well into my tiny kitchen, so I can't complain. Yes, the metal exterior gets very warm during cooking, but what can one expect with a tiny appliance that heats to 450 degrees? Nonetheless, it seems to operate very simply, straightforwardly, and safely. (Yes, I've heard about the dangers with other cheap toaster ovens, but this doesn't seem to be one of them. Knock on wood!) All in all, a very good buy thusfar.

I bought this about 5 years ago when I moved to a new apartment. It was the perfect size for my countertop, seemed simple to use, and wasn't an energy hog.

However, within only a couple of weeks of using it for toast and frozen dinners, I found a few things I didn't like:

1) The element stays on even when the door is open. Now, some people think that's "good" because it keeps the oven heated even when you want to check the food, but, I think it's a good safety measure to turn it off when opened. A few seconds either way isn't going to make much of a difference, and it just might prevent a shock or burn.

2) The grill/tray does not slide in or out easily. There is a "hook" that should move the grill/tray out when opened and in when closed. But, in practice, it requires the consumer to push or pull the grill/tray manually, which, if you're not thinking, could end up burning you.

3) The crumb tray is attached by a hinge. No matter how gently or slowly I try to open it, crumbs fly out onto the counter or floor.

4) Two ends of the grill snapped off, presumably from bad weld/solder joints, which, on close inspection, are pretty hard to see. I called Toastmaster's 800 number, and they were more than happy to send me a replacement, but, when it got to me about a week later, the replacement was too small. I called, again, and they said that was the right size for that oven. I insisted it was wrong, and offered to take photos of it to prove it. Instead, they "graciously" sent me a second one, without having to return either the original or the first one. It was the same as the first replacement. I gave up.

After throwing an almost new Toastmaster larger toaster oven

in the garbage we went back to the trusty smaller oven. For the price and toasting quality you can't beat this model.

You get what you pay for. We use this at least once a day and within the first two weeks, we noticed several problems.

The tray does not come in and out easily, it gets stuck and you have to use something to pull out the tray b/c the meal rack is too hot.

From my experience, food does not cook easily. Its hard to adjust the timer correctly and oftentimes, one side cooks more than others.

The outside gets dangerously hot. Touching it with a bare hand would easily scald you.

The vents on the side let out heat, which consequently creates dark streaks on the white metal that are hard to clean and very ugly. This toaster oven looked like it was 5 years old within the first month.

I regret getting this crappy gift and will not use "ToasterOven" products anymore.

I received this toaster oven as a promotion gift. After reading the reviews on it I was hesitant to use it. I finally decided to try it out. It has become a favorite of mine. Some of the cons others have noted are true. The exterior does get hot, the tray will not hold four slices of normal sized bread, and opening the door does not turn off the heating element. I use a blue non-scratch nylon scrubber to clean the inside, outside and glass. After month's of use it still looks and works fine. Also, if you remove the grill the tray sits on, be sure to put it back in the grooves on the side. I didn't and had problems with the tray not sliding out properly until I noticed this. All in all, my experience has been good.

Received this as a gift, piece of poop was making a popping noise after only a few uses and eventually the bottom heating element stopped working. Great if you like bread toasted on 1 side, don't purchase
