5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy for the price!!!!
I've got a family of 5, and all three of my kids, as well as my husband and I, LOVED the sandwiches I just made! We just made ham and swiss sandwiches, and it was SO easy and even my picky little eaters ate every bite! There might be a better sandwich maker out there, but NOT for $10!!

1.0 out of 5 stars I can see why the price dropped!
I had one of the originals...with the vaneer look. --Ugly yes, but it was actually very sturdy & well made. Unfortunately, it got lost in a move.

Then I purchased the newer one. It just wasn't as good of quality & the latch section cracked on me on the fourth or fifth use! Garbage!

Pay more $ on a Cuisenart or Delongi...you'll be happier.

This is a nice little sandwich maker. It's compartments are pretty small. You have to cut the crust off of your bread and cut it diagonally in order to fit the sandwich in the compartment. Also, you need to keep an eye on it, because the indicator light isn't realiable to let you know when the sandwich is done. I've had a couple of too cruchy edges on my sandwiches because of this. Otherwise, it makes a great sandwich! For the money it really is a pretty nice machine.

It does the job for the price. Smashes the bread too thin, makes the edges too hard. I use it in my office for quick lunches, but would not purchase another.

I have been using this tool for 2 months almost daily now, and it still works fine.

Update 2 years later.
As of October 2007 the toaster still works OK

Update 3 years later.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worse than JUNK at any price, December 28, 2008
This review is from: Toastmaster TSM2032T Sandwich Maker (Kitchen)
I found this in a discount store for $10 and figured I couldn't go wrong with a name brand. I was wrong. I should have crumpled the bills into a small pile, ignited them, and toasted my sandwich in the flames. The result would have been better, more convenient, and SAFER.

There is no heat control, no thermostat, no safety. The "indicator lights" are phoney and only indicate that its plugged in. The bottom grill gets way too hot, burning its own plastic case. The top heat escapes out the top, with the result that the top never cooks while the bottom always burns.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make anything that isn't burned on the bottom and raw on top.

During use, you can smell the characteristic odor of burnt plastic. I looked underneath and found that the plastic case was scorched and the plastic had bubbled - from its own heat after just a few minutes use!! Being an engineer, I opened it up to see if something was wrong inside. Nothing "wrong"...just bare-bones cheap and designed to deceive.

But not just poor...unsafe. I can only wonder who must have been paid off to allow this item to be sold in the USA.

The only thing this appliance is good for as as a fire-starter. If it burns its own case in a few minutes, with no on-off or safety shut-off, its only a matter of time before it burns everything around it. If I had a spare house, I'd do a video review. Alas, I buy $10 appliances and have no spare houses.

2.0 out of 5 stars not for people who love sandwiches, April 18, 2007
This review is from: Toastmaster TSM2032T Sandwich Maker (Kitchen)
this is poorly made and broke within a month. can only handle small thin square bread. will not work for better breads which are 50% larger. extra portion will pinch off and burn. can only deal with thin sandwiches which are not worth the effort. generally made sandwich taste like rubber. clamp closer snapped off soon after purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy, January 24, 2007
This review is from: Toastmaster TSM2032T Sandwich Maker (Kitchen)
My Toastmaster Sandwich Maker makes the most perfact sandwiches. The sandwiches come out just right everytime. There's another great thing about it. It is the perfact shape for storage and the color is beatiful and you wipe it off with a damp rag and you're ready to put it away. It makes the best and yummy sandwiches I've ever tasted!! Keep Up The Great Work.

Cheese sandwiches from the sandwich maker has become my daughter's default lunch. Before I bought this I was wracking my brain every day to come up with something we both approved of. I use it all the time and the cheese that melts on the teflon just picks right off when it dries. Great buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Peeling Plates, July 30, 2009
This review is from: Toastmaster TSM2032T Sandwich Maker (Kitchen)
After only a few months use, the nonstick finish is coming off and toasting onto the sandwich - quite disgusting. Because of this I cannot recommend this item, and I will be looking for another brand.
