This review is from: Tobruk Commando: The Raid to Destroy Rommel's Base (Paperback)
I found this to be and extremely well written account of one of the biggest blunders of the British during WW2. It is told factually and with real names and places by a writer who knows how to make it all come together in an interesting way. Its hard to believe that the British ever made it with this kind of planning and waste of people an resources. The crazy thing is that they could have pulled off the original plan but they kept adding pieces to it until it became impossible. Some good photos included with the narrative. Try some of Landsborough fiction about the desert war they too are great stories but of course since it is fiction the British usually come out on top.
