Digital Surround Sound - Truly Excellent, December 10, 2005

I had modest expectations for this CD because it was so inexpensive. To my amazement, the very first track, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, just blew me away. In my opinion, the sound is clearly superior to the D.G. recordings featuring Karl Richter (which I like very much). This is really like you are five feet from the organ in church. (I am playing it on a CD/DVD player through a 5.1 system. According to my player, this is a Dolby Pro Logic recording. Either way, I would imagine the sound would be crystal clear. Varied featured instruments on tracks. Superb value - surprising quality.
