Wonderful read, July 23, 2008
This review is from: Hug Your Kids Today! 5 Key Lessons for Every Working Parent (Paperback)
I'm in my mid-50's. I finished reading your book this morning. I'm still a little lost for words on how to describe my personal feelings. I experienced some emotions that I haven't felt in a long time.
I now realize that I need to spend as much time with my granddaughter as possible (she just turned 19 months old). Samantha isn't really related, but I have considered my wife's daughter my own for a long time, so her daughter joins in as well.
Your book is fantastic. It really tugs at your heart strings at times, sends you into deep thinking mode, and makes you wonder what part we are supposed to play in the grand scheme of things.

Wow, wonderful story and wonderful advice for all., July 21, 2008
This review is from: Hug Your Kids Today! 5 Key Lessons for Every Working Parent (Paperback)
Although I am not yet a parent, this book really grabbed my attention. After reading it (it is well written and easy to read), I really felt that many of my life's goals and values learned by my parents were reinforced by the message this book provides, namely, show your love, always, to everyone you love, as often as you can. I am one of the fortunate ones who's parents made it a point to show love on a daily basis, often times, with just a hug and a quick I love you. I want to personally thank the author for writing such a wonderful book, with such a positive and important message. I hope others who are more challenged will have a chance to read this book and will wake up to the fact that life isnt about work, it isnt about careers, but it is about relationships and you never know how long relationships will last, so make the best of them daily... Give daily hugs...

Make sure the message of love gets through!, July 17, 2008
This review is from: Hug Your Kids Today! 5 Key Lessons for Every Working Parent (Paperback)
Hug Your Kids Today! is a great book for anybody who is in any type of relationship. Bottom line for me was "Make sure the message of love is getting through!" No one is guaranteed their next breath, so we must be intentional in making sure we make the most of the moments with every relationship in our lives. The choices and actions we make and take today will determine the legacy we leave behind tomorrow, whether that is a negative one, or a positive one. Never underestimate the power of your choices in the moment-to-moments of your life. Your choices do have a lasting affect. May this affect always be described as and defined by LOVE!
I laughed and cried and identified through this book. It is an easy read and the author is great about pulling in expereinces that we can all identify with to help get the message and points across. I was in the middle of emailing the author when my son came up to me.....here is what I email the author after my son ran off, with his, and my, love tank full. "I am putting the lessons in your book into practice: my 7 year old son just came up to give me a hug and a kiss, and I pushed him aside, telling him I was busy trying to get this email off to you, and then the Holy Spirit quickened my mind and heart, thanks to the truth and wisdom in your book, and I stopped the email. I turned to him and asked what he wanted or needed. He said that he just wanted to give me a hug. I turned my chair around, pulled him in for a tight squeeze and gave him a great big hug and kiss. He told me he loved me and went off to do something else, with a spring in his step, a big smile on his face and a heart full of love. This act of love - and love is a verb - took less than 45 seconds, but will reap bountiful rewards of love and joy in my relationship with my son. If I am too busy for a hug and a kiss, I am too busy! Thanks for the love and time you put into this book. I am so much more mindful and intentional about taking the time to make my moments count with my kids...."
This is a wonderful work that the author has put her heart into as a loving and living memorial to her son. Her son left a legacy of love that now has the potential and opportunity to touch and forever transform relationships. I am reminded of what Tina Turner said in one of her songs, "What's love got to do with it?" My response is that love has everything to do with it - Love is IT!
My son and I were having some cuddle time a few months back and he said to me, "Mom, I am going to hug you until our skin falls off and we are just bones. Is that forever?" We both hope and believe that this is forever! Now, go hug those you love until your skin falls off and you are just bones - hug them forever!
