5.0 out of 5 stars A keeper for your child's library.
My Daughter and I love this book. It helps her remember the days of the week. We giggle and laugh and sing out the words. I highly recommend this book for any child just learning to read.

3.0 out of 5 stars What if you don't know the song?
Perhaps this book would be better for me and my son if I knew the song that supposedly goes with the book title. Wouldn't it be great to have a button in the front that played the tune of the song so everyone would get the fun of this book? My 3 year old likes the book, but I think he would love it if I knew the song.

4.0 out of 5 stars Today is Monday, July 11, 2000
This is cute book that teaches the days of the week with different foods in the form of a story and a song. It also uses different animals and the text is repetitive. Note to teacher: This can be used to teach math skills, different animals ,and foods. The repetitive text builds memory and can implement body movement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty cool book, we love Eric Carle, May 15, 2011

Another interesting book by Carle - actually got my (picky!!!)toddler to try a few new foods when we brought up that they are in this book. The page with the fox with the live chicken in its mouth freaks him out a tad though ;P

4.0 out of 5 stars A hit, December 4, 2010

My 2.5 year old daughter adores this book. We bought this one as a replacement (she is very hard on books). I was a little sad that I didn't get it as hard cover, but I sit with her and we read it together, we sing it, she loves it. It is definitely her favorite book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bizzare fun, November 28, 2001

This book is a little bizarre. The foods chosen include a chicken that looks alive as it goes down, BUT it's a fun book with the colorful, creative illustrations that are the author's trademark. I highly recommend it since it had my toddler glued!

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and Simple, June 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've seen people complain that this is too simple a story (there really isn't a story at all), but my three-year-old daughter really likes the simple, repetitive text and colorful pictures of animals. I got it to help her learn her days of the week. I'm not sure if it is going to accomplish that, but it is definitely one of her favorite bed time reads now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book For Toddlers and English Language Learners, April 1, 2011

Kids love the pictures for Eric Carle books, and this one is no exception. I bought this book for my daughter, who is teaching English to children in Germany. The words are simple enough for new English language learners, and the board book format will hold up well with many hands using it!
