"If today was your last day" is anthemic,inspirational rock compared to Nickelback's previous outing with "If everyone cared." While "If everyone cared" is bland dross, "If today was your last day" is actually uplifting. It's about living life to its fullest, savoring every moment, and not taking life for granted. Since it's a mediocre song, it's a step up for Nickelback and a considerable improvement.

"If today was your last day" is a positive,inspiring pop rock song. Live each day as if it were your last, living to the fullest!

Of course I give it a five, I wouldn't pay for it otherwise. Good band.

If you happen to be over the age of 25 and you consider NICKELBACK to be "kids" music, then you are wrong. It's hard to own up to this fact when it destroys your dignity, but truth must out. The lyrics and the music of DARK HORSE cut both ways. Lyrically, roughly half the songs allude to the use of illicite substances (in the USA). Personally, I could have done without those. The remaining song lyrics are so good, that the former bunch can be ignored. Musically, all the songs are intensely interesting with enough variation that you will not get bored with repetitious listening. IF TODAY WAS YOUR LAST DAY is the best of the best on this album. If you are not an established person set in your ways, you need to listen to this song every day. If you are, you need to listen to it every 5 minutes.

This song is so meaningful and this song also makes you want to turn up your speakers and rock n roll :)

I got this for free from Amazon when I signed up for 'Prime' I think, or some promotion, anyway it was free. I have a few of Nickelback's albums but this one wasn't that great, it's all about sex. I'm glad I got it for free.

The lyrics and music are indeed an art of Nickelback's that can not be reproduced only by themselves.

Great message and fun, uptempo Nickelback song to listen to. Nickelback has a formula that is very predictable and very listenable. If you don't like your rock music formulaic and processed then you won't like this - but you already knew that. It is Nickelback and you know what you are getting by now. This is one of their better offerings on this album.

When it has came down to Nickelback, they've had a mix of fair songs, but also a few great songs as well. While I wasn't too thrilled about their last single Gotta Be Somebody, their latest single fairs a little better from the album Dark horse. If Today Was Your Last Day, the second single from that album brings in a more darker and meaningful message about living your life, and not forgetting your things for others. The song isn't a bad song, but not really anything that felt like it drove completely that sounded different from what we've heard from Nickelback before. I hope their next single feels like it is a bit more driven from the heart.

First off, the lyrics aren't that great, and have already been sung a million times. They're nice, but not great. Music-wise, it's kind of like a more toned down 'Savin' Me,' except not as annoying. If Today Was Your Last Day is not a bad song, but it is quickly forgotten, and certainly not the best cut off the album. So if I bought this song, I might want my nickel back, or even my dollar...

Wow, Nickeltrash. Think you've forced enough cliches in there? Hell, this song even made it into MSN's list of "Worst song lyrics ever" (although personally I think Photograph has worse but not by much).
