Biography

Once the world’s lone superpower, America has been in a state of flux for several years. The economy seems to weaken every week, while we are in the midst of several wars that have been going on for nearly a decade.

In the midst of this, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/rapper Everlast has crafted Songs Of The Ungrateful Living, a masterful 15-cut collection that serves as a soundtrack for modern… Read more in Amazon's Everlast Store

3.0 out of 5 stars For True Ev Fans, August 27, 2000
This review is from: Today Watch Me Shine / Put Your Lights on (Audio CD)
Everlast "Today EP" Gives you 5 songs that are Rock style, not rap. The first song "Today" is a remix from the Whitey Ford album but I wouldn't call it a remix... I would call it almost the same thing. In other words the remix and the actual song aren't that different. The second Song "Put Your Lights On" w/ Santana Is AMAZING! This song is the best on this EP. The next song is a live version of "What It's Like". I don't have much of an opinion on this song because I don't hate it, but I also don't love it. Fourth, is the Live Rock Remix of "Jump Around". The live version didn't want to make me Jump like the original one did but He flows very nice in it. Last is "Blues For X-mas". I personally don't like this song Because It's really slow and this really isn't Ev's Style. It's a rock song But so much different than His other rock stuff. In conclusion I gave this EP 3 stars. Put your lights On really helped out on those 3 because I would give the song itself 1 and half stars. Like I said, This is for true Everlast fans

3.0 out of 5 stars Everlast with His new EP, April 1, 2000
This review is from: Today Watch Me Shine / Put Your Lights on (Audio CD)
This isn't the best EP but it's still cool... Everlast's EP (Today) gives you a WEAK remix of "Today (Watch Me Shine)", That awesome song "Put Your Lights On" with Santana, The pretty cool live version of "What it's Like", a live version of "Jump around" but it's not the best version of Jump Around. (It's not a song that can make you jump unlike the original one) And the last song is "Blues For x-mas" which is a pretty stupid song but some people like it... All in all this is an "okay" EP. If your a Big Everlast fan, get this EP!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great buy for the price, April 30, 2000
This review is from: Today Watch Me Shine / Put Your Lights on (Audio CD)
I really have to say that the true gift of this EP is the cut "Put Your Lights On," an invocation of consequences to people doing wrong. Makes for a great follow-up, almost an epilogue to "What It's Like." The other tracks are good to, from the two live versions of hits past (especially the spirited take on "Jump Around"), to the John Lee Hooker cover, "Blues For Xmas." I would like to know about the import, though, if it has the songs "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" and "Some Nights." If so, I'm getting that one too.
