I first heard this song a few days ago in concert. It's another wonderful song about love and longing by Gary. In the same tone as Watching Airplanes he sings about love that has been lost. His rendition in concert was phenomenal and his emotion and sincerity flows through the song wonderfully. I highly recommend this song to fans of country music.

Everyone has those days: days when all we see are clouds. Days where all we see is rain. Days when everything seems to come to an end. This is what Gary Allan's brand new single "Today" tries to depict. A lonesome day where his former paramour is about to wed her new beaut (who is not Allan himself), "Today" details with sensitivity Allan's morose. Co-written by Brice Long and Tommy James, "Today" belongs to Allan's catalog of heart-tugging ballads such as "Tough Little Boys" and "Songs About Rain." Those who have had experienced life's more sullen moments would find "Today" a great company to be with.
