Today's Mom® Cozy Comfort Pregnancy Pillow

Good maternity pillows are hard to find. It's all about mom's comfort when it comes to a pregnancy pillow and Today's Mom® Cozy Comfort is an excellent maternity pillow.

Sleeping on a Cloud

Today's Mom® has listened to the biggest concerns of...well, moms of course! One of the biggest pregnancy pillow problems has been hard edges digging into mom's shoulder. The Cozy Comfort has a curve shaped, shoulder support design, that contours to the shoulder and provides a soft sleep. Another problem examined by Today's Mom® is lumbar support. The Cozy Comfort correctly supports mommy's weight while she sleeps. An important upgrade mother's demanded was belly support. This maternity body pillow features a belly support allowing the tummy to rest and support the baby comfortable. Perhaps the best feature is the large, square head rest area. Other pillows feature a flimsy, oddly shaped area for the head. The Cozy Comfort's head support resembles a standard pillow to provide comfort.

Convenience You can Count on

This is one of the only pregnancy pillows designed with an easy to remove zipper-cover. Now, the pillow and case can be separated for washing. Both are machine washable, made of a 50/50 combination of polyester and cotton, and a 200 Thread count percale.

Please note that due to hygiene reasons, this product cannot be returned.

5.0 out of 5 stars No more hip pain!!! October 23, 2009
Color Name:Espresso|Amazon Verified Purchase
Let me say that this pillow has been a god-send to me! From the very early weeks of my pregnancy, I have been experiencing fairly severe hip pain after I wake up. I tried putting a traditional body pillow in between my legs at night to relieve the pain, but it didn't help. I still ended up turning over 4 or 5 times every night because my hips were hurting so badly. I finally gave in at about 7 months and bought this pillow. I wish I would have had it all along! Here is what I love about it:

1. It contours to my body very well, so my belly is supported at all times.
2. If I do turn over to sleep on my other side, I don't have to turn the pillow too because it wraps all the way around me!
3. I have not had any hip pain since I started sleeping with this pillow. I used to ache for at least an hour after waking up and even limped sometimes because the pain was so bad. Now, I wake up feeling great!
4. It is not as big as it looks in the pictures. I am 5'8" and it fits me fine. I thought it would be way too big and take up my whole bed, but it doesn't. My husband and I have a queen size bed and we can both sleep comfortably without the pillow getting in his way.

I would recommend this product to any pregnant woman. I know you will sleep well with it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just for those who are pregnant... August 19, 2007
Color Name:White
I'm a middle aged man with a bad back and therefore cannot possibly get pregnant under any circumstances. I did hear about these pillows on a radio program, however, and decided to try this particular one for some much needed back support while in bed.

I was so thrilled with how well the pillow seems to have the much needed bumps and nooks just where you need them for both back and abdominal support. I slept with mine for the first time last night (after making some pillow cases for it...) and truly had an amazing sleep experience. I never thought my best spooning would be with some polyester batting in a keyhole shaped pillow. Go figure.

Some have mentioned that the enclosed pillow cover might be a bit caustic to the skin. It is made from a woven interfacing material and I believe is meant only to be a pillow protector as opposed to being an actual pillow case. Should Ralph Lauren have made such a pillow slip, let me tell you, it would clearly have listed for more than the actual pillow I purchased.

Since I'm not unfamiliar with a sewing machine or DIY projects I decided to make some pillow cases for this odd duck from some old Ralph Lauren oxford cloth sheets. I can tell you from experience it is a rather large footprint. You might squeeze two sides from a fitted queen sheet if you are lucky but I can definitely get three sides from a flat queen sheet if I take out the stitching on the top hem. Use the pillow protector as your pattern piece. It works just fine.

I'm not sure my idea of a fun Saturday morning is placing 30" zippers into pillow slips, but let me assure you the second one went in more easily than the first. They do sell a 30" light weight zipper at my local fabric store as a "robe replacement" zipper that suits the job perfectly.

The rest of the sewing is pretty straight forward except for the inner curve at the top. My pillow protector has a second panel sewn in at that position but I just cut slits in the selvage to releast the tension. I had already serpentine stitched the selvage so it wouldn't let go. It seemed to work out just fine.

So for those who are pregnant or the middle aged among us with bad backs, please do consider trying this product. If you are at all skilled with a sewing machine, make yourself some pillow cases and use the pillow liberally. I can't recommend it highly enough as something to brace your back, to cuddle your body, or to simply support those extra body parts you didn't see coming.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with product August 10, 2007
Color Name:White
After reading the reviews on this pillow, I thought this would be the perfect one for me. Although this pillow does provide good back and leg support, there are some major drawbacks that I can't seem to overlook. Being pregnant, I often find that I am uncomfortably hot at night. I like pillows that are cool to the touch when you put your head down for the night. Unfortunately, the pillow cover does not have a smooth feel to it. It is covered with a fabric that has a slightly rough texture to it. As a result, the pillow cover retains my body heat which makes me toss and turn throughout the night. To solve this problem, I covered the pillow with an existing sheet I had and it has helped to keep my pillow cooler. In addition, the picture online show that when you are on your side, one of your arms has to go under the pillow. I tried it that way, but after 5 mins, the weight of the pillow makes my arm fall asleep. I've had to put a pillow underneath this "U" shaped pillow just to give my arm some room for circulation. Since I sleep on a queen bed, I try to keep my pillow on my side of the bed so that my husband has room to sleep. Unfortunately because this pillow is bulky, the arm that is under the pillow when I am on my side often dangles off the edge of the bed which also contributes to my arm falling asleep. I wish the head area of the pillow provided more support for me. I've had to add another pillow to get comfortable. For now I am going to see if I get better results by turning the pillow around so that the curved head part is down by my feet. In the end, it's a big hassle and not worth the money I spent for it. I am now looking for another pillow to help me sleep better through the night.
