Book Description

1990
There is a massive amount of prophetic information available today that was closed to previous generations. The reason for this is found in Dan. 12:4.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

According to these instructions to Daniel, neither Daniel nor anyone else would be able to correctly interpret any time-of-the-end prophecies until "the time-of-the-end." This means a new message will mark the arrival of the time-of-the-end; a message that will not only feature prophecies never understood before, but one that could not have been determined by anyone prior to the time-of-the-end.

Examples of prophecies hidden from previous generations that are explained in this book include biblical descriptions of spaceships, satellites, atomic weapons, and also unmistakable prophecies identifying the modern nations of the United States, China, Russia, and Britain. The answer to the obvious question, "When would the time-of-the-end arrive?" is defined here as, [when] "many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Twentieth century man's widespread use of motorized vehicles to move rapidly "to and fro" on land, sea, and through the air, marked the fulfillment of the first sign to look for in determining "the time-of-the-end." The second sign--"and knowledge shall be increased"--followed directly on the heels of the unprecedented transportation revolution when the twentieth century's knowledge explosion quickly outdistanced the sum of knowledge accumulated by all previous generations.

Today's Technology In Bible Prophecy shows how the rapid increase in knowledge produced a vast array of technical achievements, which, in turn, made it possible to compare a biblical description of a modern invention with the invention itself. Scriptures describing spaceships, communications satellites, and atomic weapons, are not presented as curious predictions of future inventions, but in terms of the insight they provide into prophecies addressed to the modern world.

For example, according to Daniel's decree the prophecies written about the nations that would rise to power at the time-of-the-end were likewise hidden from previous generations. Understandably, prophecies identifying the dominant powers of the modern world--Britain, the United States, Russia, and Red China--in terms of their national emblems--the lion, eagle, bear, and red dragon, respectively--were not recognized by former generations, since these nations did not become great powers until recent times.

The parable of the ten virgins teaches that at the close of the age a specific generation will wake up to the fact that Jesus Christ will return to rule the earth in their time. This book removes the present indefiniteness concerning the timing of Christ's Return. For the first time Christians will be able to speak with authority concerning Christ's Second Coming--not only the King is coming again some day, but He will return within "their" lifetime.

These facts present today's Christians with a challenging assignment--to wake up the people around them to the realization that modern technology has unlocked the mysteries of the Bible's "sealed" end-times prophecies. Once Christians wake up to the availability of this information they can apply it to the task of leading unbelievers to Christ.

This background information provides some insight into why most of the material in this book will be new.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Charles W. Miller spent twenty-three years working on the leading edge of the computer field by day and studying Bible prophecy by night. In his studies he discovered that Bible prophecies consistently explain end-time events in terms of modern advances in technology.

From the Author

I became interested in Bible prophecy while reading a special edition of Life Magazine on Israel's swift victory in the 1967 Arab-Israeli Six-Day War. The Life report said the Jews' retaking Jerusalem was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. The article failed to mention which prophecy, so I began reading the Bible to find this prophecy. I eventually found it in the book of Zechariah.

I then wondered if there were prophecies describing the eventual development of the great engineering achievements of the modern world. What I found was a vast body of prophecy describing the major inventions of the twentieth century. The descriptions of these things are not an occasional obscure verse but chapter after chapter detailing every aspect of modern mans engineering achievements such as: spaceships, communications and spy satellites, submarines, atomic weapons, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and super dams, to name a few.

The question I asked myself in 1967 was why are modern man's inventions described in prophecy? I eventually found that they help explain unique sequences of events to look for leading up to the Second Coming of Christ. Now the minute I mention the Second Coming, people tune out, or start heading for the exits. The typical response is "Oh right." People view the Second Coming of Christ right out there with politicians promising to pay off the national debt. The Second Coming is a concept people have heard about, but they do not believe it will really happen--certainly not in their lifetime. In view of the outlandish claims about the timing of the Second Coming that have not come to pass, skepticism about Christ's Return is understandable. I myself initially had reservations on the value of studying end-times prophecy. Notwithstanding, I eventually found that the Bible's technology prophecies provide the key to unlocking the long-standing mysteries describing the order of events leading up to the Second Coming of Christ, in our time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very enlightening book., November 19, 2000

This review is from: Today's technology in Bible prophecy (Paperback)
This book has a lot of material from the Scriptures, and goes into the descriptions for various present-time inventions, as mentioned in Scripture in relation to the end-times prophetic passages.

It takes quite a bit of concentration and time to digest it all, but it is well worth it when compared to the fictional accounts in prevalence.

It is for the serious student of prophecy, not for someone looking for comfortable entertainment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tomorrow's newspaper headlines, January 6, 2006
This review is from: Today's technology in Bible prophecy (Paperback)
This morning I awakened to the BBC news report of Ariel Sharon's heart attack and subsequent coma. Recently I had been studying Today's Technology in Bible Prophecy, and noted the comments in Chapter 4 regarding Ezekiel 37 and 38. On page 114, I had highlighted this statement, "For example, the placement of the Russion-led invasion against Israel, directly after the Scriptures's description of the political demise of modern Israel's original Ashkenazic nation builders at the hands of the more numerous Sephardic Jews, provides a visible signpost to look for prior to the arrival of the Russian-led confederated army into the Middle East."

Mr. Sharon's exit from Israeli politics just two months before the March 28 election (and just two months AFTER formation of his new political party) could very well be the catalyst that sends Israel into the "hands of the more numerous Shephardic Jews." Mr. Sharon's opponents in the upcoming election are Benjamin Netanyahu and a newcomer, Emir Peretz, who was elected as head of the Labor party just last November. Guess what? Emir Peretz is a Morocco-born Jew. Is he Shephardic?

Wow! Tomorrow morning's news was written thousands of years ago, and revealed to ancient Israel's prophets.

Thanks to Charles W. Miller for this insightful book.

This review is from: Today's technology in Bible prophecy (Paperback)
The author gives his version of connecting the dots between various prophetic end times passages from the Bible. Those dots lead to present day technological developments that were accurately describe by the prophets in the most descriptive terms that they could relate to from their experience. Not an easy read, but thought provoking.
