This book is very informative for a first time mother who run out of idea of what to play with her baby !

3.0 out of 5 stars not the best toddler activity book
We liked this book, but found it overrated. There are some good ideas and it has a very high gloss, professional format. However, it is by far not the best activity book for toddlers and has some overly obvious information and activities, which most parents initiate instinctively with their children and without the help of a book. The Toddlers Busy Book, for example, has...

We liked this book, but found it overrated. There are some good ideas and it has a very high gloss, professional format. However, it is by far not the best activity book for toddlers and has some overly obvious information and activities, which most parents initiate instinctively with their children and without the help of a book. The Toddlers Busy Book, for example, has given us a much better range of ideas.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book full of fun and learning., July 1, 2001
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
Filled to the brim with lively, full-color photographs, this book will teach you not only how to play, but why children need to play. The activities presented are for the 12-month to 30-month age bracket and have games for developing language, motor, and sensory skills. There are art, sports, and imagination activities that will be fun for both you and your child to get involved in. An added bonus is that my 30-month old daughter loves to look at the pictures of kids that are on almost every page and she will "read" along with me as I sing some of the fingerplay songs that are shown. You can't go wrong with this jam-packed book for games that will occupy and educate your child!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun ideas, September 23, 2002
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
This book has terrific fun ideas for toddlers. It has many of the rhymes and songs that every child (and parent!) should know. We consider ourselves remedial parents and found this book to be quite helpful! Now we're WOWWING other parents with our rendition of "The Noble Duke of York."

3.0 out of 5 stars Just ok..., March 8, 2006
By
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
This book was alright, but a lot of the ideas were sort of no brainers. There were a few new things that I never thought about, but a lot of it is stuff that is in magazines, books and things that are just basic common sense. The pictures in the book are of fabulous quality and there are some great songs and fingerplays in the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book!, May 2, 2001
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
This book is full of great ideas! Your toddler will even like to look at the book while you get ideas for games to play with them. There are a lot of pictures of children and their parents playing. My daughter loves to look at them. It teaches many songs and hand/body motions to go with them. My daughter loves these and I am sure your child will also. You will not be disappointed with this one!

This book is excellent. It is filled with some great games, songs and finger-rhymes. There are plenty of things you can do with what you have around the house.

I have an active 16-month old son and I try to pick a new thing every couple days for us to do together. It's a great book!

3.0 out of 5 stars It's ok..., August 18, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
I bought the Baby Play book and really liked it a lot. However, I was a little disappointed with this one. It has some of the same information as the Baby Play. It does had some nursery rhymes and children's songs which can be pretty useful.

2.0 out of 5 stars Slick but not very useful, October 15, 2005

Andy (san francisco) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Toddler Play (Gymboree) (Paperback)
I saw this book at a friend's house and was very impressed by its slick production and the blurb on the back. I bought the book but was very disappointed. Most of the ideas, like "hide and seek" for example, are obvious and will be arrived at by most parents on their own.
