I gave this two stars simply because watching the pageant moms and dads never fail to make me emote. While most of that emotion is revulsion and horror, I do enjoy making fun of them.

I live in the South. Beauty pageants are as sacred to some as Nascar is to others. While Nascar drivers are putting their lives in danger by driving in circles, so too are these young girls put in danger (especially their self esteem) from dancing in circles usually reserved for adults. Tiny tots are waxed, shaved, tanned, given false teeth, forced to wear fake hair, and stuff themselves into dresses that could NEVER be considered comfortable. They have to sit still for manis and pedis. They are told not to run and play, lest they mess up the illusion that they are seasoned pros in an adult world.

I've seen children browbeaten into practicing 'pretty feet' and dance routines daily that are both obnoxious, tiring, and include garish costumes that leave little the imagination. And the mothers can often be seen living vicariously by performing the routines behind the judges' table. In all the episodes I have seen (which, let's face it, is most of them because I just love mocking and snarking), little girls are often left in tears.

Why do that to your child? What will they gain from pageants that they won't gain from gymnastics, soccer, reading, or just being kids? Instead of buying dresses that cost thousands, how about donating to charity or putting your extra money into a college fund? THAT would be something to instill in your child instead of how high her hair can be teased.

Childhood is so short. There are much better ways to teach a child self discipline that also include self respect. You will never find any of that by gazing into a mirror and measuring your self worth by whether or not your beauty is the only thing you have to offer the world.

My daughter loves this show. She likes episode 9 and 10 the best. The girls on those two Eden and Kailua are adorable she says.

Such a fun show. It's the best that reality TV has to offer. Yes, it can be shocking sometimes, but that's sometimes the consequence of beauty pageants for the young.

I like this program because the children are so cute! The parents mostly show how you shouldn't, parent! Some of these children are parenting their parents!

This show is hilarious to watch but from my perspective SOME of the mom's are ridiculous. Carley' s mom I think is way to over the top . Berkeley's mom wants the best for her kid and the other girls mom is one of the nicest moms I have ever seen on the show

Never thought I would like this show but if you need something just to get your mind off problems of the world and you don't have to think about anything then this is the show for you. I didn't think I ever would like it but I got hooked on it.

I love this show because of the people who are profiled, not because of the pageantry that is portrayed. I had never seen anything like it before. I have now watched all of the available episodes. It is a very interesting sub culture. It is unbelievable! The amount of money that is spent is insane! However, rather than hating it, as would be many people's first reaction ( all of my friends are disgusted by it) I am amazed at it, as a two way mirror into a roup of individuals who may very well represent the zeitgeist of modern America. And just like weddings have become a big business, so too have these pageants. I started it expecting I would hate it too, but actually I enjoy seeing all of the different types of people that are for some reason drawn to something that so many other people dismiss as empty and wasteful at best, and exploitative and inappropriate at worst. I am also a fan of a little girl named Makenzie, and I absolutely despise a little girl named Eden, the default queen of the pageant world. Seem of the personalities and characters are rest, and some are horrifying, but I would venture to say it is all interesting.
