5.0 out of 5 stars Helped me pass CV Science Exam
The CV Science exam by CCI is so broad you don't know what to study: math, patient care, A & P, pathology... This book narrows it down, and gives you just what you need. It's thick with lots of questions. His explanations are detailed and easy to understand. Lots of clear pictures. I bought it because my ultrasound instructor recommended it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Editing...how embarassing
Let me start by saying that in the past 2 weeks I have passed both the ARRT (CI) and the RCIS with high scores. But the suggestion that memorizing the questions and answers on the study materials will be adequate to obtain a passing score, is very wrong. I studied an astronomical amount of hours (20-30 hrs a week for 3+ months) and I still felt like the tests really...

This review is from: Todd's Cardiovascular Review Book, Vol 1: Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology (Plastic Comb)
Let me start by saying that in the past 2 weeks I have passed both the ARRT (CI) and the RCIS with high scores. But the suggestion that memorizing the questions and answers on the study materials will be adequate to obtain a passing score, is very wrong. I studied an astronomical amount of hours (20-30 hrs a week for 3+ months) and I still felt like the tests really made me use reasoning skills...know and understand the explanations. I bought all of the books and the CD but I never opened a single book. My studying consisted of the CD and the internet to answer lingering questions.
The cons -
The MULTIPLE grammatical and mathematical errors and conflicting explanations and answers are VERY frustrating. It is sad that a program that is representative of the field is discrediting because of the complete lack of attention to detail.

This book is being used to study for upcoming board exam. It appears to be very thorough. The format of questions with very complete explanations is a fantastic way to learn.

The pros +
1- Enormous amount of info. The 4h edition brings 2 set of 1" thick volumes, i guess dividing the entire content into 2 seperate volume was easier to assemble, i guess i dont know.
2- Super awesome info that this book will give you. I recently purchased the book to be able to sit and test for the cardiovascular science for the cci. It was recomended to me by my previous instructor and said even if i just memorized the questions and answers its a guarantee to pass the exam. Thats how good this book is supposed to be.
Also the book content brings so much info to the point that it can be used to test for additional registry exams such as RCIS, ARRT-CIT, ARRT-VIT,
The cons -
1 Price of the book was like WOW!, but all the info in the book aliviated the pain a little.
2.The CON i thought about this book, is that its an old publish material and im hoping the test still contains the same material today from when this book was originaly published 2002.
Overall i recomended. i have'nt yet taken the exam to say how relavent this book was to the exam because am still pending on the test date.
In the future i'll be needing a review book to test for my rcs with cci. one step @ a time though
