Great selection of songs, February 10, 2005
This review is from: Todo Saiko (Audio CD)
Saiko was created as a chilean electronic-techno band in 1998 and made its debut in 1999, after Luciano Rojas (guitar & bass) and Rodrigo Aboititz (keyboards) had departed from the most famous chilean band nowadays: "La Ley". Both, along with Ivan Delgado (keyboards, saxophone & voice) and lead vocalist Denisse Malebran formed this excellent band.
This Cd from 2003 includes most of the songs from their first two albums: "...informe.saiko" (1999-2000) and "Campos Finitos" (2001), most notably, the four singles from their debut album: the very electronic oriented "La Fabula" (The Fable) and "Cuando Miro en tus Ojos" (When I Look in your Eyes), the great-catchy-pop-dance "Happy Hour" and the more intimist, slow, sad "Unos Tras Otros" (Ones after the Others); and the three singles from their sophomore album: the very tuneful "Limito con el Sol" (I border with the Sun), "Azar" (Chance/Luck), an excellent song with stronger electric guitars and "Amor que no Es" (Love that is Not).
Plus there is a new song especially conceived for this complilation: "Veneno" (Poison), which was used in a chilean short-subject.
Currently Saiko is promoting its third album "Las Horas" (The Hours), in which it shows their "departure" from the electronic music towards a more rock oriented style with stonger drums, bass and guitars.
Currently the band are Denisse Malebran, Luciano Rojas, Javier Torres and Jorge Martinez.
If you like electronic music of good quality buy it.
