Pulley has lost some things similar to their previous albums, but they have gained back even better things.

From the opening track of In Search, you know this is gonna be a big melodic punk ride. All thirteen tracks blaze by in a matter of minutes, but you'll be glad you were there to witness it.

With the loss of Jordan (staying in Strung Out full time) and Jim Cherry (starting up Zero Down), you might think that things wouldn't be the same. Well, Tony Palmero (formerly of Ten Foot Pole) picks up the sticks and sits behind the set for Pulley now. This new lineup is an amazing, powerful punk bomb, waiting to explode.

The things that really stand out for me are the amazing drum beats, the vocals, and the bass. Tyler uses about 100% of his skill and energy to make the rhythmic bass more of a lead guitar. If you are into booming bass lines, this is the album for you.

Tracks that stand out: Hooray For Me, Fuel, Touched, Runaway, The Ocean Song, Destiny (for the whole 18 seconds of it), and Silenced. But then again, I love all the songs. Buy this album, you measly punker!

The reunion piece from the boys of the self-confessed cookie-cutter band, Pulley, should ooze with unbridled energy, but unfortunately Radinsky's vocals just seem subdued and the rest is so immaculately produced it's often hard to make an emotional connection. The Ocean Song is the standout track of the album, most of the rest are adequately catchy, but there are some woefully tuneless songs in there too (History Repeats Itself, Leather Face). Radinsky's vocals skip between the unaccompanied sound of @#!* and the vocal layerings of Matters effectively, but his constant habit of overextending his notes at times grows tiresome. It seems Pulley have slipped even more into the realm of the ordinary with this album, but not for a lack of sincerity or as a result of selling out. When Radinsky claims, "I don't write this music with intent to pay my bills," you can't help but believe him.

Well, I'm not going to say this is a terrible cd because it's not. "Hurray for Me" and a few other songs save this album from that solid title. I would more less consider this album a mediocre cd. It's not anything to rush out and buy, but if you want a good pop-punk collection or something this will keep you entertained for a short while. Pulley has some good songwriting skills, but there are better pop-punk bands out there. So listen and judge for yourself, because you may think of it totally different than what I do. Once again, it's not a bad cd, it just seems like I haven't been really getting into it, but sometimes if my mood is right it's a masterpiece, but not too often. I found more satisfaction in an Alkaline Trio album than I did with this, so I recommend "Goddamnit" instead of this, that cd blows me away, but this was a cool breese.

You owe it to your ears to pick this one up. You can't go wrong with Pulley. They've yet to record even a so-so album. This is no worse. My personal faves on this are Runaway (#8) and Hooray for Me (#2). It's a bit more upbeat than the self-titled CD, and harks back to 60 Cycle Hum just a bit. Great stuff...good buy.

AMAZING!! If you don't have this, buy it! How many CDs do you own where you can actually say you love every song? This is one of those CDs! I won't say this album is better than their others, well, because every album Pulley makes is great!! And the production is amazing as always!! Ryan Greene is the MAN! There are particular times when the rebellious offspring of humanity necessitate a quick fix to pump the adrenaline back into their blood, and Pulley's fourth album, "Together Again for the First Time," not only infuses your own special drug, it triggers the sensors to detonate Punk disorder. Its as if a dealer says, "hey kid, want some Pulley?" Being inquisitive, bamboozled, and bored to tears, you inhale, smoke, or guzzle the Pulley and before you could identify it, your nasty case of grogginess has vanquished! Sensing the furor of exuberance, you proclaim your rightly dominance in the world. You grab your Baker skateboard shrilling, "fight me!" Pulley`s new CD not only provides the energetic push, it throws in their genuine testament to renounce the staging of cashing in (ahem, Pennywise). 10 Foot Pole, eat your
heart out.

"In Search," the opening and speedy-gonzalez track, is the harbinger of an entire CD gone on inexorable. From there its a safe assumption that what's in store is a complete rush of poppy Punk spasms. Belligerent and melodicore, the band has not drawn a one-hit CD, but a roll of 13 outrageously persistent tunes. Bursting with contagious choruses, most tracks should induce even the most jaded to proudly croon along. Sneering snotty vocals, frontman Scott, tackles common issues such as bulking ineffectual quandaries. Terse, the lyrical dilemmas sling long enough to be astray from a distasteful, rambling nuisance. "Destiny," lasting in mere seconds, is a striking brigade of an overwhelming punk blitz. Although not by a long shot, "Lost Trip," with its home-hitting lyrics and ingenious use of symbols, constantly gets lashed with the repeat button and lands on my best side. Either matured or maturing, Pulley evolves into an elite in-your-face bullet while preserving its traditional melodicore trademark

Pulley's follow-up starts where their self-title naturally left off, manufacturing their raw spree into the definitive field. Reconnoitering their own musical turf, Pulley has enhanced their music and kept an adroit restoration of their old grandeur stuff. Upgraded, the melodic craft ascends as a towering thrust of fresh, prevailing contemporary melodicore. Essential rhythmic drumming, perfectly matched riffs, and silver-tongued bass ripping, the only thing Pulley forgot were the Got Punk sticker and brakes.

My first experience with Pulley was with their song, "Second Best". After hearing that song, I went out and bought @#!*. Even though the length of the album was very short, I was thoroughly happy with my purchase.

A couple of years later, I heard Pulley would be releasing a new album and I was really excited. I actually went out and bought the cd at midnight the day it was released. I was pretty hyped about this release and then I put it in my cd player.

Halfway through the first song I lost interest and skipped to the next track. Same thing happened with the second song. I began scanning the tracks for anything that caught my attention, but nothing really stood out. Something was lacking, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

Then I realized what was wrong with it. None of the songs really seemed finished to me. They all ended short. It felt to me like they simply recorded everything they wrote and didn't bother cutting or editing any songs, which isn't hard for me to believe seeing as the length of the entire cd is less than half an hour.

Most of the music is fairly decent, but none of it is really outstanding. I can't name a song that truly stands out more than any of the others; they just aren't very well-structured. The entire cd gave me the impression that none of the band members put much effort into the song writing process and that the only reason they released this cd was to make a few extra bucks from what was their current fanbase.

After their incredibly catchy album, @#!*, I expected a lot more than what was delivered. If you haven't heard Pulley before, then this is not the place to start. If you loved what you heard of Pulley before this, give this cd a sample listen to before picking it up. Maybe it works for you, but for me it was simply too lacking in most areas.

Pulley would be a great band if the singer weren't so monotone. Check out Ten Foot Pole Unleashed or Insider instead. A much better band!
