This came packaged beautifully in a robin's egg blue box with satin lining. It is very attractive, although the print is rather blurry.

It's a teapot, right? I mean, it's functionally sound: no leaks; has a nice weight to it (not too heavy that it's cumbersome to pour, but heavy enough so that it feels as if it's quality porcelain); inside, the spout has a few smaller holes (instead of one large hole), which may catch leaves if you're using tea leaves as opposed to a teabag, but I would recommend also using a strainer depending on the size of the leaves; and it makes tea like all other pots. But what makes this unique for me is the design.
I'm sure this is mass manufactured somewhere given the price, but the detail is nice and is especially relevant for me. If you can't tell from the picture, it's a farm house in the background, a mother with a toddler on her lap and another little boy standing nearby. There are various vignettes: two boys in a raft (think Huck Finn), a farm boy with no shoes, a woman tending her garden, geese, etc. So it's about what you want from a teapot. |
