Kagrra is INSANE.

Just kidding, that would be Dir en grey.

But seriously. It's a cryin' shame amazon doesn't have Kagrra's (only?) full-length album Miyako. This band is one of the most unique things to come hurtling out of the Japanese indie scene since Kyo popped out and started screeching into a mic.

Their visual aspect is fabulous. Very convincing crossdress with modernized kimonos, great hair, pro makeup, and a bitchin' old-Japan concept.

Musically, Kagrra kicks butt. Otherwordly rock infused with Isshi's dreamy vocals and the occasional traditional instrument, they are definitely my second fav of Jrock. They are young and fresh and their music is like cherry blossoms in a morning mist. You float through each album on Zephyr's breath, Isshi's vocals are like vanilla, carrying you far away to a mysterious ether.

Give this band a chance, you won't be dissapointed. I'd go with Oukaranman first, and if you like it, pick up the other mini-albums like this one. if you can, scour the earth for Miyako.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well, the name of this album isn't 'Toki', it's 'San'., September 4, 2005

But apart from Amazon's.... error in translation.... it's an excellent album.

Presentation wise, this is one of the nicest packaged CD's I've ever seen. The Limited edition comes with a small photobook of the band, very artistically beautiful shots. There are five interchangable CD covers for the CD, one of each bandmember, and a pack of trading cards. All is incased in a flexible plastic sleeve with white writing on it.

Musically, this CD is solid Kagrra. Personally I didn't find that any one track really stood out as absolutly brilliant and unique (such as Yotogibanashi's B side, 'Amafurase Tanmaina'), but each song could easily stand alone as a great composition and perfect example of the band, outside of what is a beautifully arranged and strong album.

Introduction of guitarist Shin's Koto work in the song 'Meguru' is a particularly effective addition to Kagrra's unique mix of rock and traditional Japanese influence.
