The Closest Some Disney Fans May Get to Japan, October 5, 2002
This review is from: Tokyo Disneyland Music Album (Audio CD)
This CD is a must for Disney fans that wish they could visit Tokyo Disneyland. It may be the closest any of them get to experiencing The Mickey Mouse Revue, the "Get the Fever!" version of the Tiki Room or Pooh's Hunny Hunt.
The track listing includes:
Several songs from the Mickey Mouse Revue, including the Overture ("Whistle While You Work", "When You Wish Upon a Star", "Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee"), "All in the Golden Afternoon", "So This is Love", and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". (This former Walt Disney World attraction has been dubbed into Japanese using the original backing tracks.)
A 1970's-sounding medley of what's either Fantasyland instrumental background music or exit music from the Mickey Mouse Revue, including "Casey Jr.", "Mickey Mouse Club March", "You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!", and "A Spoonful of Sugar".
"Grim Grinning Ghosts" (In English)
"You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!" (The instrumental music as heard in the line queue).
"It's a Small World" (Dubbed in Japanese using the original backing track.)
A medley of instrumental music from Pinocchio's Daring Journey.
Pirates of the Caribbean (In English.)
Enchanted Tiki Room "Get the Fever!" (In Japanese.)
Country Bear Theater (Dubbed mostly into Japanese with the original backing tracks but "Heart, We Did All That We Could" is the original English recording.)
Meet the World (The song from this recently-closed show is mostly in Japanese.)
Two songs ("Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "It's a Small World") from Cinderella's Golden Carousel.
The Droid Rooms (Instrumental from Star Tours.)
Two songs ("Ev'erybody Has a Laughing Place" and "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah") from Splash Mountain (Mostly in English.)
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin (In Japanese.)
Minnie's Yoo Hoo!(Instrumental.)
Mickey's Answering Machine (In Japanese with dead-on impressions of Disney character voices.)
Puppy Love (Instrumental.)
Minnie's Answering Machine (In Japanese.)
Thru the Mirror (Instrumental.)
Pooh's Hunny Hunt (In Japanese.)
The booklet is mostly in Japanese with some English and has a picture of two from each attraction featured on the CD. Even if you don't understand Japanese, you will understand what's going on if you are familiar with Tokyo Disneyland's American counterparts. It really is a Small World after all.
