An Experimental, Nocturnal Sonic Masterpiece .,

This review is from: Tokyo (Audio CD)
After the dreamy "Lost Connection" and "Distance," Marconi Union would present once more with Tokyo."The moods here are cooler and boast a "waterfront streets after 2 A.M."-kind of ambience. The selections are peaceful, but feature more mechanical embellishments unlike on the previous release. If you think "night noise" such as clanging pipes and/or buoys ringing out from shipyards before dawn, this set should excite and satisfy you. If you're expecting the dreamy, glittery, shimmery atmospheres of its predecessors, it's likely that you will be perplexed and/or disappointed. It's a uniquely crafted experimental, nocturnal sonic masterpiece. Marconi Union returned to form with "Beautifully Falling Apart" in 2011, "Tokyo's" follow-up.
