Tokyo Mew Mew,
By
This review is from: Tokyo Mew-Mew, Book 1/ Mew Mew to the Rescue (Paperback)
I don't generally go for manga with an absolute *overload* of cuteness. However, I had heard of Tokyo Mew Mew and really wanted to read it. So one day, I bought it. Tokyo Mew Mew some may say is a copy of Sailormoon. But there are several differences. The idea of merging endangered species with humans to fight aliens is interesting--the endangered species thing is something new. TMM is quite cute--that's for sure. Ichigo (which means strawberry) is the main character, a cat-girl. Her comrades are called Mint, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zakuro. This manga is recommended for people who like mahou shoujo and anyone who can withstand tons of cute-ness. I liked it, for sure.

I have always wanted to watch the anime "Tokyo Mew Mew" I was more than happy when I bought the first volume of the manga. It may not be the anime, but it's just as good. The artwork is beautiful, and the English translation is very good. The story is about an 11-year-old girl named Ichigo, who is on a date with her crush at the exhibition, and then something like an earthquake happens. Ichigio soon finds weird things happening to her like-when she falls she lands on her feet, cat ears and a tail popping up out of no where, and she suddenly starts having an appetite for fish. She finds out that she was chosen to be part of the "Mew Project", along with four other girls-Mint, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zakuro. (Pudding and Zakuro will be introduced in volume 2) I find this manga to be quite sweet, and cute. If you like cute and sweet shoujos, then you should definitely give "Tokyo Mew Mew" a look!

I requested this book for Chritmas because people were calling it " The New Sailor Moon Series." I love the characters and the whole story line. I must say that this is a really good series if your into stuff like Sailor Moon!
