Not Quite as Good...,

Firstly, I *adored* Tokyo Mew Mew, so I was more than excited when I received the news of the sequel. It was GREAT, don't get me wrong, but the first ones were so much better. The plot in this one is still fantastic and still recommended, but don't expect anything better than the first seven books of the original Mew Mew series. There is one new character and a group of villains that are planning on destroing the earth to rebuild it as a better planet. The new character is very much like Ichigo and her 'love' is also very much like Ichigo's. She is a copycat hero in a copycat series. It is worth the money, I was just expecting more.

Tokyo Mew Mew a la mode,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
I've read everyones reviews, and i have to admit, it was a let down. I was really looking forward to reading another 6 volumes, and even though the main plot was pretty good, i couldnt help but feel let down by the ending. Bad guys deciding to turn good usually happens in toddler books, and i feel that the plot could be expanded more so that there would be more books.
It was still pretty good though.

a good book... with a suckish ending,
This review is from: Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
I am a huge fan of tokyo mew mew. I have all the books and i just bought the second vol of TMM ala mode today. I was waiting forever for this book to come out cause I wanted to find out what happened. I can say the second volume is decent but the ending in tokyo mew mew is WAY better (the fight scene with deep blue)
SPOILERS AHEAD:In the end of the 2nd volume there is no fight scene! the crusaders just give up without a fight--wtf?! i was expecting a action packed ending like at the end of the 7th volume. that is why i gave this book 4 stars--but mia ikumi-san ends the book with extra comics--petit mew mew (with berry and special guest--MEW RINGO!)and a new ikumi manga--rabbits starfall. so its still a good book but i think mia-san could have improved the ending a bit more.

Really...,
By Moriko-chan (Quakertown, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
By all means, I love this series a lot, and it was my intro to manga, but this book in the series gave me an annoyed feeling. In anticipation of the book, I was quite excited, but when I read it, it was boring and the bad guys gave up without a fight! Truthfully, this could have been so much better.
*SPOILERS ALERT*Even now, when I look at it, its an extreme disappointment in comparison to the previous books. The Mews are in a heated battle against the enemy, but then all of a sudden, the evil leader of the enemy just give up, saying that they should just give up and life goes on. Yes, 2 charachers relize their love for eachother, but an incredible ending goes flying out the door. The book was still good, but once agian, it was a disappointment.

The Mews,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
This is one of my favorite series, but I thought this was a bit of a let-down compared to the other books. I thought that the series ended abruptly, and badly. In the end, it left me frustraited and broke.

Mia Ikumi! Seriously?,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tokyo Mew Mew A La Mode, Vol. 2 (Paperback)
Seriously! Mia Ikumi is a wonderfully gifted mangaka, but she was seriously lacking in this series! I'm a fan of Tokyo Mew mew, so, when I heard that there was a sequal series, I thought, "Oh wow! Awesome!" So, after reading the first volume, I was interested, but still a bit disapointed. First off, Berry is pretty much a copy of Ichigo, right down to the cat tail! She is the newest-and least experienced-member of the mew mew team, yet they promptly put her in charge of them! That makes sense how? It's ridiculous because I thought that someone like Mint would take over due to her experience and leadership skills...also, in the first volume, the original mew mews are hardly in it! They are in maybe 4 pages of the whole book max. Same with Ichigo. It seems Berry steals the spotlight from everyone. And, it just gets worse.
In the second, and last, volume of A La Mode, Berry and the mews fight off the newest villains, the "Saint Rose Crusaders." I think the name says it all. They were ok villains at first, then they just went soft. I was originally expecting a big battle at the end, like in the original series, but instead, it ended rather boringly. The villains just gave up. Yeah. They just gave up without a fight or anything. It was a horrible ending! What was Mia thinking?! It seemed that she had rushed the series quite a bit. In my opinion, it was a total waste of my time and money. But, if you like the "heartwarming" stuff, then I guess this might be for you, though it didn't really warm my heart. And, it may not sound like it, but I'm pretty easy to please.
