Tokyo has changed a lot - which makes this book close to useless. You'd be better off spending time having the locals show you around than reading this.

Written with verve by a well known expert of Tokyo after dark, I have personally enjoyed many a spot listed in this essential guide to the Tokyo night scene. Sure, things change, clubs close, but this book should be a core holding in your library of club reviews.

This was a very good "Welcome to Tokyo" book for me. When I lived there, I found several of my favorite bars and restaurants in it.

The biggest knock is that it's gotten dated. A lot of the places have closed or changed character, and it's missing many of the newer hotspots. A new edition will be very welcome!
