I have read many books in my day, but this one is among the very, very best ever, and frankly puts most current novels to shame! In fact, this novel has about everything: sassy humor everywhere, timeless satiric comments on Brit society circa 1880-1925, family frolics, essays and commentary not to be surpassed, revolutionaries, religious ideas and a fine description of a seeking religious mind, zest for life in almost every line, and even a murder! Blending history and culture with an English family, the Gardens (one of many,many word plays), I dare anyone reading this book not to agree with me! Plus you can buy it here for mere pennies!!
