5.0 out of 5 stars good come back.
Now this is the sparkle that people expect to hear. I really enjoyed this cd. Her words are clear and you can totally relate. This was a very good come back. I highly recommend this cd.

When sparkle first came out I was feeling the first song that she did with R. kelly. After that I kinda lost intrest after that because of the second single she released. I never got around to listening to the whole album but I herad mixed things. Then I heard about this album but I wasent sure how it was. Then I read Tony and james review about it and went out and bought it. Was it worth it? After the first listen you wil see its worth every star. Steve Huff is another producer to look out for.

Best songs are:

1:Dont know why-- This song has one of the tightest beats on the cd. The beat along with the humming is what makes this diferent from anything else out now. this is sparkle telling you how she feels about being in the spot light. The ups and downs.

2:The ghetto--This a cool laid bakc slow jam with sparkle explaining how life was living in the ghetto and the things she dosent like about it. reminds me of r. kelly on this track.

5:Into my life-- This is a mid-tempo track that has a nice beat to it. It goes fast and then slow. She breaks down how she let someone in her life only to have them play games.

6:When a womans heart is broken-- the best slow jam on the album. It might be the next single but i'm not sure. This one of the edgiest tracks on the album. I think Steve Huff sings on this song.....he should come out with a album.

7:Good life--This track has the beat froma old song with cappone and noreaga rapping on it. this track is a laid back hiphop track. Talking about enjoying the sucess.

9:Somebody Else--This is sparkle regretting something she told her ex and now wants to make up. this has a laid back beat.

10:Everything--Another good slow jam about sparkle talking about how she do anything to keep a relationship going strong. There sa guy doing back up on this song that sounds like one of the isleys but it might be steve huff...not sure. tight track.

Overall sparkle came stronger on this one than her last cd. Anyone looking for a good R+B cd should check this out. Kelly might not be here but you can tell she didnt forget everthing she learned from him because you can hear it on certain songs.

The album had a hit single entitled "Be Careful" (feat.R.Kelly), and the album flew to No.4 on Billboard 200 instantly. TOLD YOU SO has certain musical appeal and is an undeserved flop (I didn't even see it debut in the Top 100 of Billboard). But Sparkle's new album sounds cliched, undercooked, and not aggressive enough, considering I hear nothing to make it deserve a "Parental Advisory." Parental Advisory for what??? "It's A Fact" is a catchy, and haunting first single. And I would've suggested playing the breath-taking "When A Woman's Heart Is Broken," the booty-shaking "Good Life"-remix feat. Memphis Bleek (I actually would've put that on the album instead), and the wedding-worthy "Everything" all on the radio. Despite those high points, she also falls into bland territory with the turn-off "All I Want," the so-so "Somebody Else," and the disastrously mushy "Lovin A Man." Grade: B-

After her stunning debut in 98 working with one of the most talented songwriters and producers in music today R.Kelly..Turn the page two years later.. Sparkle returns with a new CD on a new label and new producer i really didnt know what to execpt.. But to my surprise i'm glad that i brought the CD the day of it's release not really familiar with any of the songs.. But brought it basically on how much i enjoy her first CD.. Being familiar with one of the hottest newcomers in producing Steve Huff..

This guy is really start to make some noise producing such acts as Joe( Treat Her Like A Lady) , Avant, Profyle .. Even though R.Kelly is missing from the writting and producing.. This Cd still have a R.Kelly influence this no more evident then on such tracks like When A Woman's Heart Is Broken which is truly one of the best songs on the CD.. The song is like a rebuttual to R.Kelly's smash hit When A Woman's Fed Up.. Most of the songs deal with heartbreak which i am sure certainly every one can identify with .. Other highlights on an incrediable CD are Everything, Never Can Say Goodbye, All I Want, In To My Life.. All a great CD if you are real r&b lover and you enjoy her first Cd you will certainly like this one as well.. Pick it up you will be glad that you did

4.0 out of 5 stars Home Run ........, December 11, 2000

Sparkle had a base hit the first time that she came to bat as a singer a couple of years ago. This time at bat with "Told You So", she steps up to the plate and hits a solid home run. And Steve Huff seems to be a really good coach. The musicians on all of the songs on this CD also played their best, rounding out a truly winning team. This CD is great.

And one other note. In my opinion, Sparkle sounds a lot like Aaliyah (my personal standard of excellance) on some of her songs. Aaliyah has not released a CD in quite some time, so if you miss her, this CD may satisfy your Aaliyah craving. It did mine.

Sparkle, you go girl !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars ... Be Careful, she "Told You So", October 25, 2000

Although, this CD just came out yesterday I wasn't going to buy this at first. A reviewer, "Tony", told me he had purchased this already and said that this CD was worth picking up. As usual, Tony's advice was right. First of all, I will start off by saying that anyone that liked Avant's debut CD, "My Thoughts", will like "Told You So", the 2nd disc from Sparkle. The reason why I say this is because Steve Huff, who produced Avant's CD does the same with Sparkle's new CD. Sparkle first gained attention with her debut single, a duet with R Kelly, "Be Careful". Most people were anticipating the release of her CD, but I was a little hesitant until I found out R Kelly produced the whole CD. The CD was very good, with songs to remember like "Time To Move On", "Lean On Me", "Turned Away", "What About", and "I'm Gone". R Kelly did a good job with the writing and the production on the CD. When I heard that Sparkle wasn't working with R Kelly this time around, I was a little worried that she couldn't hold her weight. Of course, I was wrong. The 1st single, "It's A Fact", caught my attention from the start because the song reminds me of Avant's "Let's Make A Deal". Steve Huff once again proves to me that he has unlimited potential. Sparkle is at her best when she is speaking of heartbreak like she did on her last CD. The best song on the CD is the song written by Joe, "When A Woman's Heart Is Broken". Sparkle plays the role of a woman scorned like a violin on this track. This song is definitely one of the best current slow jams out right now. Other highlights include "Never Can Say Goodbye", "Somebody Else", "Everything" and "All I Want". Sparkle proves that there is still life after R Kelly. Steve Huff and Sparkle have done an excellent job on "Told You So".

I am a total Sparkle fan. Her first cd was excellent but you can definitely tell she has matured with her sophmore effort. The beats are great. The first song Don't Know Why sounds like it has some R. Kelly influence and the track Its a Fact is the bomb. You also can't go wrong with song number 8, Never can Say Goodbye. If anyone was going to give Mary J. are run for her money, that person would have to be Sparkle.

Sparkle's latest work is really great. "Told You So" is a great album, and I just wish that she was getting more airplay with this album. I don't think it's been promoted good, and I'm just so glad that I happened to get it for a Christmas present. It's a great CD. I really recommend it to anyone who likes R&B that's actually good.
