Funny!!! but not as solid as their last cd,
By Eric Twain "Eric" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Told You I Was Freaky (MP3 Download)
This album has some great songs (Hurt Feelings, We're Both in Love with a Sexy Lady, You Don't Have to Be A Prostitute) while some are hard to get through (Demon Woman, Petrov). I love Flight of the Conchords and actually enjoyed season 2 (where all of these songs are featured) more than season 1 but I have to say the content of the show was stronger than the songs that came with it this time around. Much of the first season of the show was based around songs that they came up with long before they were one HBO. For the second season they had to write the show and entirely new songs all at once and the difference shows, some of the songs seem a bit rushed. Even so I think this album proves how creative these two guys really are. Jermaine and Bret still have a great subtle sense of humor and have created some truly catchy songs.

Hilarious!,

Hilarious! What more could you expect from Flight of the Conchords, this album is a release of songs from their second season HBO program. 'I Told You I Was Freaky' spreads it wings over different genres such as Folk, Techno, Hip-Hop/Rap, and Reggae all wrapped in a comedy blanket. This album with standout songs such as, "Hurt Feelings","Sugalumps","Carol Brown", "You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute", and "Rambling Through The Adventures of Time" this comedy-filled album is sure to be the hit of late 2009. The Vinyl copy includes a poster, download coupon for the entire album, and it includes the guitar chords for each song. Flight of the Conchords are so unique and original they can't be painted in a corner, they are constantly changing and developing. The only complaint I have about the album is that I wish that they included songs left off from the first season such as "Bret You've Got It Going On" and "Cheer Up Murray." To put it simply Flight of the Conchords are 'The Beatles' of Folk Comedy.

Conchords Still Flyin',
This review is from: I Told You I Was Freaky (MP3 Download)
This album is a solid title with a very different feel than their first album. While attempting to branch out further than just two guitars and some jokes, the synth and mock-rap blows this CD up and makes songs like "Sugalumps" and "Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor" songs that will forever be hilarious and make me laugh everytime my Zune comes across 'em. Season 2 featured a GREAT lineup of songs...especially "You Don't Have to be a Prostitute", "Carol Brown" and "I Told You I Was Freaky". The only weak link in the album lies in the lyrics and delivery of "Petrov, Yelyena and Me" other than this very odd song, every song delivers laughs and surprisingly catchy hooks. Great Sophomore album for the Kiwis.
