4.0 out of 5 stars Funny!!! but not as solid as their last cd
This album has some great songs (Hurt Feelings, We're Both in Love with a Sexy Lady, You Don't Have to Be A Prostitute) while some are hard to get through (Demon Woman, Petrov). I love Flight of the Conchords and actually enjoyed season 2 (where all of these songs are featured) more than season 1 but I have to say the content of the show was stronger than the songs that...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good But Inconsistent
The second season of Flight of the Conchords was ever so slightly less brilliant than the first, and the corresponding album acts accordingly: not quite as good as the first, but not far behind. The duo's incredible musicianship is not as apparent this time around, and is especially lacking on "We're Both In Love With A Sexy Lady" and the album's title track, both of...

This album has some great songs (Hurt Feelings, We're Both in Love with a Sexy Lady, You Don't Have to Be A Prostitute) while some are hard to get through (Demon Woman, Petrov). I love Flight of the Conchords and actually enjoyed season 2 (where all of these songs are featured) more than season 1 but I have to say the content of the show was stronger than the songs that came with it this time around. Much of the first season of the show was based around songs that they came up with long before they were one HBO. For the second season they had to write the show and entirely new songs all at once and the difference shows, some of the songs seem a bit rushed. Even so I think this album proves how creative these two guys really are. Jermaine and Bret still have a great subtle sense of humor and have created some truly catchy songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!, October 20, 2009

Hilarious! What more could you expect from Flight of the Conchords, this album is a release of songs from their second season HBO program. 'I Told You I Was Freaky' spreads it wings over different genres such as Folk, Techno, Hip-Hop/Rap, and Reggae all wrapped in a comedy blanket. This album with standout songs such as, "Hurt Feelings","Sugalumps","Carol Brown", "You Don't Have To Be A Prostitute", and "Rambling Through The Adventures of Time" this comedy-filled album is sure to be the hit of late 2009. The Vinyl copy includes a poster, download coupon for the entire album, and it includes the guitar chords for each song. Flight of the Conchords are so unique and original they can't be painted in a corner, they are constantly changing and developing. The only complaint I have about the album is that I wish that they included songs left off from the first season such as "Bret You've Got It Going On" and "Cheer Up Murray." To put it simply Flight of the Conchords are 'The Beatles' of Folk Comedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Conchords Still Flyin', October 20, 2009
This album is a solid title with a very different feel than their first album. While attempting to branch out further than just two guitars and some jokes, the synth and mock-rap blows this CD up and makes songs like "Sugalumps" and "Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor" songs that will forever be hilarious and make me laugh everytime my Zune comes across 'em. Season 2 featured a GREAT lineup of songs...especially "You Don't Have to be a Prostitute", "Carol Brown" and "I Told You I Was Freaky". The only weak link in the album lies in the lyrics and delivery of "Petrov, Yelyena and Me" other than this very odd song, every song delivers laughs and surprisingly catchy hooks. Great Sophomore album for the Kiwis.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, very funny album!, August 4, 2011

I randomly listened to this CD yesterday. I thought it was hilarious. I have been a fan of FOTC since the first season on HBO but kind of stopped watching over time, mostly because I don't have HBO anymore. I love the show, and this album is great. Worth several listens, and what's best about it is that besides being funny, they are genuinely good, catchy tunes. I recommend it!

Takes a little longer to get stuck in your head than their previous album but many classic will come out of this album, as well. If you're a FotC fan, it is a must!

I was instantly addicted to this CD. These guys are fantastic. This is the second CD I've gotten and both are some of my favorite CD's.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flippin' Awesome!, August 23, 2010

What other adjective can be used to describe anything Flight of the Conchords besides brilliant? "I Told You I Was Freaky" features the soundtrack from Season 2 of their self-titled HBO series and in some cases the songs are extended versions of what you heard on the show. Hilarious and catchy, this album delivers the same high level musical comedy that you would expect from the pioneers of folk comedy music. There are a few songs from the season mysteriously missing from the album but it is still worth of 5 stars. The album artwork is especially intricate and hilarious all the same and lyrics are provided.

Overall this is a great album for Flight of the Conchords fans and non-fans alike. But hopefully the band/comedy duo continues to pump out new music/albums despite the series end of their show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost But Happy At Sea!, June 13, 2010
This review is from: I Told You I Was Freaky (Audio CD)
This is a wonderful follow-up to their first album that tends to lean more to the techno side of the musical scale. The humorous folk duo have done a wonderful job although the album is not quite as solid as their first offering it is still awesome which makes it better than most other musical comedy acts out there.

One thing I was sad to see not on the album was the song "Dreams" from the second season episode "Murray Takes It To The Next Level" and I always hold out hope for "Jenny" to be on a CD somday because I think that it is a brilliant song. Nontheless it is a great CD with some of the most hilarious tracks you will find. They did seem to have a little more crude humor on this disk which probably is why I did not enjoy it as much. I know, I know. I'm a prude, but what are you gonna do?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music, a more mature Flight of the Conchords sound, May 18, 2010

Nice mix of songs from the show. New songs like "Too many Dicks" and "sugalumps" demonstrate a more mature sound then listeners familiar with FotC first album might expect. I loved the new edge, but it is possible that a more squeamish listener would be put off. If you're a fan of the second season though, this CD will make your life a better experience.
