This review is from: Tom Brown's Band from Dixie Land (Audio CD)
I own presently a 12" LP of Tom Brown's band but have ordered this CD and am expecting to enjoy his sound through other sides. Tom Brown was one of the earliest Dixieland jazz trombonists, along with the likes of Santo Pecora, Eddie Edwards of the ODJB, and George Brunis. Judging from these sides, he was a solid although not lavish soloist, but his band played well-thought out arrangements and featured some of the best New Orleans jazzmen. To the best of my knowledge, these are his only sides on CD.
