4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the Best
I bought Rainbow Six with great confidence in my purchace and I got pretty much what I expected. Rainbow Six is a good game with some good features and some minor flaws. Like sometimes the rest of your squad will get stuck on a corner and you will be walking alone. Also Some levels have Maybe 4 guys on a big level. But there are also good things about it. Like...

1.0 out of 5 stars No comparison to the original
Red Storm may have thought they were doing the world a favor when they released this game for the Game Boy, but is sadly quite the opposite. The gameplay is tedious and slow. The box is deceitful in appearance, in which it seems to portray a game that is fun. I only wish I'd read some of these reviews before I bought it.

Like sometimes the rest of your squad will get stuck on a corner and you will be walking alone. Also Some levels have Maybe 4 guys on a big level. But there are also good things about it. Like sometimes it will automatically go in to first-person shooter mode, and the setup for each level is cool. You get to choose weopons, choose outfits, guys, and plan your mission path ahead of time.I think it's worth the money. Overall Rainbow Six is a good game.

If you are looking for the same fun gameplay as in the PC and N64 version of this game then you are in for a big surprise, this game is a stinker. The pre-game graphics look cool but there really is no point to any of it because all of the characters and selectable weapons are the same. There isn't much difference between characters and weapons. Gameplay is lousy. It's very slow and boring; you spend most of your time walking around looking for your objective with no action occurring. Just don't spend your money on this game if you are looking for a game with a challenge and good looking graphics.

I've played rainbow six on pc, play station and gameboy. I found the gameboy version to allow you to do more things than the playstation but not as much as the pc version. If you like planning missions, giving teams assignments and strategy (vs shooting) this is a good game. There are some glitches in the AI but those were in the original. If you like first person shooters, don't buy this game.

This was an Ok game but to easy, I went through the first 7 levels in half an hour! Even though some of the weapons were cool, and it had some good graphics the game got completely boring after two days. I would not buy this game again if I had a coice.

4.0 out of 5 stars dark but fun, July 3, 2002
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (Video Game)
The game is pretty fun but you have to have perfect light to see it well enough to play right. Otherwise it has good challenge I don't like how your team and the hostages get stuck alot ,but it is a good game for a trip or when your bored would not sit and play all of the time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not That Great...buy something else., July 17, 2001

The game is really easy. The bad guys can shoot worth crap and the same goes for your teammates. Your teammates and hostages get stuck alot during the game. I found the planning stage to be hard to control and hard to get the way points where they should be. Plus there are weapons in the game that you could never use...like breaching charges and lockpicks...since there are no doors that where locked...and they automatically open when you walk into them. I'm a big fan of the origional PC game but this was a dissapointment for me.

The fun was over when I turned the game on. Dismal graphics, poor on screen instructions, and bad design. If this were the only game out for Gameboy, well I'd take up the yo-yo.
