Product Description

Platform: Nintendo WiiU | Edition: Standard

A group of terrorists calling themselves The Engineers have had enough of US military occupation all over the world and initiate a terror ultimatum called the Blacklist - a deadly countdown of escalating attacks on U.S. interests. When our nation is threatened, the president turns to one man and one man only: Sam Fisher. Armed with state-of-the-art technology, top-of-the-line-gadgets, deadly combat abilities and an elite team known as the 4th Echelon, Sam Fisher holds nothing back to get the job done through whatever means necessary to stop the Blacklist countdown before it reaches zero. Splinter Cell Blacklist offers enhanced gameplay options on the WiiU. The Gamepad replicates Sam’s OpSat, allowing the player to operate gadgets such as tri-rotor drones and the sticky cam through touch and motion based inputs. The Wii U GamePad allows for faster reaction times, letting the player mark enemies, switch weapons, quick reload and choose gadgets to adapt to any situation, among other features.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome game! Gamepad is amazing to use August 23, 2013

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
First off I want to start by saying that I am a huge fan of the Splinter Cell series (mainly the first 3 installments as they were stealth games, not action or FPS like conviction felt like). This game feels like the first 3 games which to me is a very good thing. You have different ways to complete missions so if you prefer more action and want to play it like a FPS you can, I don't recommend this play style, but it is available to those who like it. I play on perfectionist difficulty which is the hardest difficulty level, I don't say that to brag but to urge everyone to attempt this difficulty level. It is extremely rewarding to complete a mission on this difficulty and gives the game a more realistic feel as you cannot resupply during missions, you cannot use the mark and execute ability, and there are a few other restrictions but it makes the game more intense and incredibly enjoyable.

To me the wii u version of this game is by far the best version available. I am sure PC fanboys will disagree but to me there is way more to games than graphic fidelity, so yes, pc version may look better but who cares. The gamepad offers unique gameplay that really adds to the depth and emersion of the game. Being able to simply touch the icon of the gadget or weapon you want to use instead of having to push up on the d-pad to bring up a selection wheel, and then rotate the right thumb stick to highlight which gadget to use, is so much better and really satisfying, not to mention it is much faster so you can quickly change your gadget and use it and then quickly switch to another in a matter of seconds, it is great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Purchase the Wii U version August 20, 2013
Platform for Display:Nintendo WiiU| Edition:Standard|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I played only the Xbox an Wii U versions but out of the two the Wii U version was the best. It has better graphics an the controls felt very smooth. There was an update also on day one to eliminate the frame rate stuttering during cut scenes which I haven't noticed any slowdown yet. No offense to the Wii U I love mine and I have all three consoles but the game selection is pretty bad. If you do have multi consoles though an the Wii U is one of them this is your best bet to purchase it on the Wii and lets hope more great games like this will release on it this year.

5.0 out of 5 stars The definitive version. September 5, 2013
Platform for Display:Nintendo WiiU|Edition:Standard
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I had 2 friends come over who are both raving xbox fanboys and asked them to play this game for the Wii U (one had also brought their 360 version down) and I can officially say this: The graphics are a LOT better on the wii u version (mostly noticable when in darker areas where you can still see details in the wii u while the xbox version is completely washed out); the gamepad not only makes selecting weapons and gear faster, but also lets you cycle through variations of the gear faster; the gamepad also is used to fly the tri rotor and aim airplane/satellite weapons. Simply put this shows exactly how awesome games like these could be on the wii u. Anything thats a multiplat in the future I will definitely be picking up for the wii u. At the end of the day I only convinced one of the two to get the Wii U version, but that speaks leaps and bounds about the game to anyone who has ever delt with a fanboy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love every aspect of the game!!! August 20, 2013

What can I say!!! This game is like a 9.5 out of 10 to me. Stealth mode, fighting, hidding, killing or not killing, multiplayer, great graphics, everything is nice about the game. The game pad features are really good compare with the 360 version, (Not play the PS3 yet). Not sure if it was my friend's TV but his 360 version looks a little bit dark on the graphics when Wii U version looks a little more clear but it is not that much, they almost look the same. The ability to control the little remote flying camera/weapon thing with the gamepad was really cool. There is a lot about of this game as far as option on how to clear stages, (Reminds me of Metal Gear games). I reccomend this game for the Wii U better than the 360 version (Can't say on PS3 because I didn't play it yet).

This game is just all around solid, and probably the best "hardcore" offering availible right now for Wii U. While I can't compare it to the other platform offerings. I can tell quality offering which includes story/mission, dlc, multiplayer for you quote on quote "hardcore fans", and is just gorgeous graphically. This game also offers a high replay factor (in story mode/side mission).

The gamepad works amazing with in Spinter Cell BL allowing on the fly transitions between weapons and gagets like. I also allow additonal control options for controlling remote gagets (i.e remote cameras). Plus there is always the additonal advatange of being able to play using only the gamepad if your T.V. happens to be ocupied by some unwanted guest (wife, kids, friends lol).

I am not a tech buff when it comes to the inner working of video games, but IMO the UNREAL engine has been twicked nicley to run about as smooth as any other game currently offered on the market. The load times are a bit slow when loading new missions (using external harddrive), but once the action begains it is consistant and free flowing.
