5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games available, now out for a lower price!

1.0 out of 5 stars I don't get it, why do people like this game? It's so bad!
First of all I'd like to specify that I really like stealthy-action-thinking type games. I'm a big fan of the Deus-Ex series especially, and I also really liked the Thief-game series. I had high hopes for this game, but I was deeply disappointed when I played it.

The Splinter Cell series of games is one of the finer ones around.

Playing it through for the very first time is absolutely mind-bending: the environments are intricate (with an attention to detail rarely seen in other games), and the gameplay is a rich, rewarding, if occasionally somewhat linear, experience. This is a series that gets under your skin, and you find yourself really thinking like Sam Fisher to negotiate the levels.

Those used to playing run-and-gun first person shooters might find themselves a bit out of their depth. The game is meant to be played in a methodic, logical, and stealthy way. It is possible to play all the games in the series with NO unnecessary kills (occasionally there are places where you must assassinate an enemy, but these are rare and well-defined). I've played the entire series twice, and each time it's a new, detailed experience because one can play the games in a different style each time.

I'm presently trying to "ghost" the game, whereby I attempt to play the game with no unnecessary kills, no unnecessary knockouts, and no getting detected. It's a challenge, but its fun.

If you enjoy games where speed and finger-twitchiness are not key aspects of playing or enjoying the game, and would much rather analyze and get involved with the game, this is the series for you.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. WOW for only 30 bucks you get two of the best games to ever grace the computer and console. I have had all the splinter cell games for xbox and decided to get all three for comp as well but each game was going for like 25 bucks at all online and regular stores so i bought this pack and love it, the graphics are a bit crummy but thats my computers fault not the games. BUY IT NOW if youve never had the chance to play these games I gurantee you will fall in love with them :)

I bought this with my gift card I received for Christmas. I was immediately excited to see two Splinter Cell games packed together for a great price. I was impressed that the packaging was not damaged so I would recommend this product to anyone who loves these kind of games. Surely if like stealth action games buy this. It works great!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE for real gamers, November 20, 2008

Splinter Cell is the best, stealth-espionage series ever in gaming. The stories are believable, and detailed. Not cartoon-ish and outlandish like the Metal Gear series. No animal mimmicking military machines, psychic powered beings, or cyborg ninjas. Just real-to-life, world hungry terrorists and government officials. Splinter Cell's only problem is the fact that it's audience was brain washed by Metal Gear Solid first. By this game for a real stealth experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and Splinter Cell: Pandora's Tomorrow, January 18, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Espionage Pack (CD-ROM)
If you want to take a break from Quake and Quake engines, waste your time in some fruitful, exciting, tactical, option filled, spy, espionage, stealth, covert, logical to an extent game, you got it. Although, it does not have as many alternatives as of Hitman Series for a single game compeltion, but it's a thumb's up. You have to maintain your physical secrecy extremely in some mission while some has ease and freedom not to do so. Shadows and stealth help you get hold of guards, mission objective completion without knowledge of elements in the mission, avoidance of alarm, unnecessary altert in the enemy territory, while choosing alternative way is to expose yourself highly, shooting every inch and bit outta your way and compeleting your way out. Turining off the lights, knocking out guards from back, grappling down and making way through windows, leaning and ghosting in shadows, deviating guards patrol and attention by throwing objects in the other direction, coerceing for information, forcing for their retina scan to open doors, unlocking locked doors and pressing codes, carrying unconcious bodies and hiding, time managing to eacape surveillance cameras, shooting them, turing off the lights and breaking them, stealing docs are some key features.

The Splinter Cell series is the best series to date. SC 1 and 2 are the backbone of the 4 part series. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory the third installment is by far the best. The multiplayer is awesome. So if you liked 1 and 2 you gotta get Chaos Theory. The best 4th installment Splinter Cell Double Agent on the original xbox is excellent!

I know the game tries to be realistic, but this game like other tom clancy games that I've played is so anal. It's hard to enjoy the game, when you have to put so much time sneaking around and doing just the exact right thing at the exact time in order to make a stealthy kill or knock out.
I don't know about everyone else but I like to play games for entertainment, and this game just felt like it had no "fun" in it at all. It's way to serious, it takes so much time to be good at the game, and I have no idea why some one would give so much time up for a game. I wish I could be happy with crouching around in the shadows for hours on end just to complete a mission, but honestly it gets super boring really fast.

I played both of the splinter games in this pack, and I would say think twice before you get it. The other reviews miss led me, and I wasted my money and time on this game.
I would highly suggest the first deus ex game to anyone contemplating buying this game. Deus Ex has a amazing plot with great characters, and is way more entertaining. Also try out the Thief series...
