I love my little bird bath!,
By
This review is from: Antique Iron Birdbath (Kitchen)
First off, the birdbath arrived just hours after I got an email stating that it had shipped, this only a few days after I ordered it. It was well packed and arrived in perfect condition. This little bird bath is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Just the right look for my garden, just the right size and depth for the birds. Light enough to move or carry around to another location, but heavy and stable enough that it survived it's first night of marauding raccoons (which knocked over and broke my last bird bath). I looked outside last night and saw a raccoon standing on his hind legs, trying to reach up and drink out of it, but it was JUST tall enough to be a bit of an inconvience for him. Yet even leaning on the edge of it, he didn't succeed in tipping it over. I also left the bowl of my old, broken bird bath on the ground nearby for the wild critters to use, to hopefully keep them away from this one. This morning a big blue jay was happily splashing around in the water, so obviously the birds like it, too. The price was perfect - I can't afford anything elaborate and expensive. Also, the manufacturers got the bath's paint job right, too. Sitting outside my window, just a few feet from my computer, it truly DOES look like an antique that's been in the garden forever! My neighbor saw it and commented on its delicate, refined design, and how perfect it looked where I'd placed it. It's simple to assemble; just screw the pedestal to the base, and the bowl to the pedestal. Even the little cast-iron bird bolts on with a nut and screw - all I needed for that was a pair of pliers. I'm very happy with this product. It looks even nicer than I expected, the price was right, it arrived quickly, and my bird-friends love it! Two thumbs up from me! :) UPDATE - Jan. 2012: I still have the birthbath, and still love it. After a couple years of getting knocked over by the raccoons, eventually it hit the cement one time too many, and the little bird broke off. :( Even so, that still wasn't too much of a tragedy, because the bird then made a cute little decorative addition to my flower pots in front of the house, along with a few other "orphan" decorative animals from other items in the past!

This birdbath arrived missing hardware; specifically, a screw that would attach the top of the pedestal to the bottom of the basin. When I contacted the company I was told there was no hardware to connect the two pieces at that juncture. Hard to believe as the basin would be unstable sitting on the top of the pedestal unsecured. A friend was able to find hardware to make the connection so I am able to use it.
Still am unable to comprehend this lapse or lack of hardware...

I ordered this as a gift to the buyers of our house. I was tempted to take it with me when I saw how attractive it was. It assembled quickly and looked exactly like its picture. I would definitely recommend it to a friend. It was well packaged and arrived quickly.

Very attractive and sturdy. A bit on the small side, but the birds love it. Good service from company.

Not very tall but well made and easy to put together. The pic makes it look more cream, but in reality, it's a mix of yellows and greens. overall, very happy with purchase.

Couldn't find a bird bath ANYWHERE, not Lowe's, Walmart... anywhere. When I did see one, it was always over $70 and looked pretty cheesy (just a big cement bowl on a stand).
This bird bath was under $30 and has a lot of character. It's extremely sturdy and easy to assemble (it's only 3 pieces). I was worried about it being iron & figured it would rust, but it's been a couple months now & everything is fine! Birds around here don't seem to know what it's for though. They seem to think it's a toilet & not a bath.

Just got this birdbath and it is terrific. Easy to assemble (5 minutes), very attractive, and sturdy. The small size makes it very graceful in the garden and I would highly recommend this product.
