Editorial Reviews

From Booklist

Tom Flores may not know every story associated with the Oakland Raiders football team, but he knows most of them. Flores has been associated with the Raiders from the team's inception, first as a quarterback, then as a coach, and currently as a broadcaster. If the Raiders have been known for anything through the years--other than solid play--it's been the team's tendency to attract colorful characters. Ted "The Mad Stork" Hendricks and Jack "Assassin" Tatum are just two of the players who may have spelled trouble elsewhere but fit into the Raiders just fine. Flores structures the book around the players, moving alphabetically through the list of the best or most interesting. There's little in the way of chronological organization, but the anecdotes are funny, revealing, and illustrative of the outlaw mentality that has defined the team. Raiders fanatics will enjoy this one cover to cover; other fans will pick through it to savor the stories about guys they loved to hate. Wes Lukowsky

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for all OAKLAND RAIDER fans., July 26, 2010
By
RAIDERHEAD (Hawthorne,Fl.) - See all my reviews
Tom Flores tells great storys about alot of players he coached and played with and does not go over board with alot of small details. Tells of his 2 superbowl wins with the Raiders. I think Tom Flores is one of the greatest coaches and the book may not be for all football fans but as a Oakland Raiders fan I really enjoyed this book alot and I think most fellow Raider fans would agree with me. Thank you Mr. Flores for a great book and all the great years of football you gave to the Oakland Raiders.
A OAKLAND RAIDERS FAN FOR LIFE.
RAIDERHEAD.
