A great trumpet player and artist of our times, Tom Harrell keeps on surprising us with every CD release. But UPSWING is a very special one that deserves more than 5 stars. The tunes are beautiful, the musicians are playing in harmony together, the atmosphere all in all is first class. When listening to this CD, you will need for sure to repeat it as you can never get enough of this classy music.
Playing on this CD are: Tom Harrell on Trumpet, Joe Lovano on Tenor sax, Phil Woods on Alto sax, Danilo Perez on Piano, Peter Washington on Bass, Bill Goodwin on Drums.
I conclude my review with Phil Woods statment: "If other trumpet players don't have every Tom Harrell album, shame on them".
