This review is from: Tom House Pitching Absolutes [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This tape, which was made in 1987, is very mediocre. I have Tom House's much more recent book "The Pitching Edge" and companion video, and "The Pitching Edge" book and video are far, far superior to the "Pitching Absolutes" video. In fact, "Pitching Absolutes" offers contradictory information and uses a totally different vernacular than "The Pitching Edge." For example, regarding mechanics, "The Pitching Edge" stresses over and over that the pitcher must "STRIDE, GLIDE and ROTATE LATE." Such terminology is missing from "Pitching Absolutes." "Pitching Absolutes" is an obsolete tape which has been far superseeded by Tom House's later works. I would not recommend this tape to anyone. However, I'd strongly recommend Tom House's "The Pitching Edge" (and its companion video) as using it as my bible, my son has made incredible improvement in the last 12 months. I also bought the "Pitching Mechanics" video, but haven't seen it yet. Hopefully it will offer material not contained in "The Pitching Edge" such as drills and workout routines. (By the way, Nolan Ryan's "Pitcher's Bible" is also excellent).

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much talk, February 19, 2002

This video had lots and lots of talk and very little action. My son was bored with it and I was, too. I picked up a few things from it, but on the whole, it was not geared towards little league pitching. I'm not quite sure who the intended audience was.
