Great for beginners,
By A Customer
This review is from: Tom And Jerry (Video Game)
This game is great fun for small children and mine who is six absolutely adores it! My son identifies with the characters from seeing them on TV and is kept entertained by this game for long lengths of time,he especially enjoys the chase. This is a good game for kids who are new to the gaming experience,it teaches them how to master the skills to play harder games on a more basic level. I was glad that I bought this game for my son who just began playing Playstation a few months ago;he found it fun even when he didn't suceed and learned with ease to correct his mistakes.By the way as far as the hitting factor in this game goes,I as a mother have no problem with it,I think that most children understand that its just a game just like they understand that the cartoon is just a cartoon. I don't believe that they are going to play this and then go out and try to suck each other up in vacuum cleaners,or swat each other with umbrellas. This game is just all about fun, plus as I mentioned a great skill sharpener for beginners, even if your an adult! Don't overlook this one, don't take it too seriously, just have fun.

Close, but not quite,

I think the age range should actually be 5-10 years. For anyone over 10 (and maybe even younger than that), the game gets boring quickly as it is limited in scope. Other than that, it is cute with decent graphics and a good idea for a kids' game.

My 5-year old son thinks the cartoon characters are great on TV and he was not disappointed when they appeared on this game. Entertaining and fun for not only him, but his 3 yr. old sister who sits as close as she can get to him to watch! You won't be disappointed by this product. It delivers.

As an arcade game, this game just does NOT cut it.,

For the 21st century (which is NOW), this game just does not cut it!The graphics is fine. Although the settings are in 3D, the drawing, lighting and such, are too primitive to be called 3D (compared to others, of course). The game plan is too monotonous. Tom and Jerry were born to hit each other however, wherever, whenever, etc... So I wouldn't blame the game for focussing too much (if not only) on hitting. The same when you watch the cartoon, which has been aired for several decades now. However, as I said, the game plan is too monotonous. Without the popular cartoon counterpart (and perhaps the attractive cover that has cute images of Tom and Jerry), this game would not stand a chance. Worst yet, for a game with too much a hitting, *COLLISION DETECTION* (which is vital for arcade games like this one) is simply miserable. Picture this: Year 2001, your living room, big screen TV, 3D-sound setup, comfortable couch, ... Jerry (you) is waiting for Tom to show up in a room. "Snap!" "Gotcha!" (you thought). But no, you just missed him (Tom), and none of it is your fault. None of these, by the way, are in my living room. They could be yours, though. Go figure. I hate to give a poor rating, yet I hate more to give an unfair one. So, better luck next time: "Two-star!"

Too Easy!!!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tom And Jerry (Video Game)
I love Tom and Jerry.I thought this game would be some big game with a long plot.I was wrong 3 times. It isn't a "big" game;it isn't long;and there is no plot! It's 7 or 8 levels.I beat in in 32 minutes.(I guessed the time)There are no scenes from classic Tom and Jerry cartoons or any other type of Tom and Jerry animation. This game is a waste of money.I would give it 1 star but I liked the 2 player.Overall, don't buy this if you can get to the 3rd world in Crash Bandicoot 3.

Way too much emphasis on hitting,
By Beverly Fuller (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews

I loved the detail and the colors, but man, why do they put so much hitting into this game - and in an everyday setting, no less. Certainly even a 3 year old can master the mechanics of this game, but do we really want our children thinking that fun and games is picking up anything handy in the house and throwing or hitting each other until they pass out? What kind of message does that send? What kind of future does the bring? I was very sorry that I bought this game - for a 3 year old, no less. My 10 year old nephew enjoys it, but finds it monotonous and will not stay on it long. For that I'm glad.

Highly recommended for young gamers,

NewKidCo is an excellent gaming company for the young kids that want to play the games they see their siblings playing and also for the parents that don't want to orient their young ones to violence and aggression. They have new products coming with E.T. as well as Little League baseball. ....
