I purchased the book to read to my son. The stories are exciting but the compelation left something to be desired. The quality of the paperback was poor for the expense and there were no illustrations. We have some old Tom Swift books (original hardbacks) that have pictures I can hold up from time to time while reading. I wasn't wowed by this book.

This was a gift for my dad who enjoyed these books as a kid. He cannot put them down. The type is easy to read , and the format is good. No pictures, but that's just fine with us.

This is a book containing a series of books. It is crossing over from the cowboy days to the begining of the modern world of technology. Some of the new stuff in this book is old fasioned and out of date. You run into old words you have to guess at meaning of. The major one in this series is Tom Swift and his Electric Rifle, this has not been matched yet in technological accomplishment. The since of wonder it originally invoked may be less now for todays tech jaded kids,but I really enjoyed the Electric Rifle when I was 14. This book was the inspiration for the TASER - Tom A Swifts Electric Rifle.
This book gives the reader a perspective on the way people thought about a 100 years ago

the format of this book is too large, with type size that is too small. It is very difficult to handle and to read.

This is a lot cheaper than buying 12 paperbacks! And it's handy to have them in 1 volume, too.
