this was my first unit I had ever gotten. it didn't take long to understand it, and yet there is still places that I haven't touched on yet.
it either is right on the button with the address. or some place very close. give or take a house or two. I drive a shuttle van, so being close is better. use daily. and had down loaded the Homer Simpson voice that keeps the riders entertained. for the 100.00 bucks, it's well worth the cost, and would do it again if this one came up missing. it is very mobile with a 3 hour battery once it is unhooked from the van. and the touch screen is very handy. takes only a few seconds to set up the addresses, and your good to go. A+

Bought the Tom Tom XL325S to replace an older model from a different manufacturer that has since gone out of business and I couldn't get updates for. I couldn't be more pleased with it's performance. Have had for about a week now and have used it several times and it's worked flawlessly.

For years, my husband and I have used a Navigon. When we moved and he became a tow truck driver, he found our Navigon to be so much harder to use. A friend lent him his Tom Tom and he LOVED it. I still swore by Navigon. On several day trips, we used them BOTH to compare their accuracy, ease of use, etc. The Tom Tom won hands down, each time. I purchased one for my husband and another one for myself. I LOVE the many features that the Tom Tom has. For example, I was able to program it to show my car (a 2010 Hyundai ~ silver) as the icon on the map. I'm so happy with my new GPS!! Worth the money, hands down!

Purchased this TomTom XL 325s 4.3 inch portable GPS navigator for a friend. Started off great and then when you try to link with your computer for updates is where everything went wrong. Customer service was no help whatsoever. It took 6, yes 6 hours to correct the mess. Lost all maps and couldnt get it back. Finally able to restore. If you purchase this item dont try to sync with your computer for updates, it didnt work for me!!!

After bricking it during a botched update I finally got this thing working. It works great and I love the ability to set up the different alerts and alarms. After using it for about a month, I don't even need it since it's given me all the best routes in town and I'm no longer lost. I did notice one day that it seemed to have shifted north and the entire drive it was displaying me as one road north of where I really was. That was the only time, however, and rebooting it fixed it.

One warning though, when I first updated it, I got an error upon rebooting it and it couldn't find a map. If you get this error, be prepared for lots of hair pulling, crying and yelling. Customer support won't help you much, and you're pretty much on your own to get it up and going again. Luckily I am pretty savvy at fixing these things, not everyone will have the patience or know-how to fix it.

I have owned 3 GPS's and this one is by FAR the worst of the 3. Omni was cheap, but it worked ( sold it to a friend); Garmin was stolen out of my car but I LOVED it. Tom Tom...supposed to be so great, I hate it. It does not recognize locations of POI ( i.e. looking for Sam's Club, it took me 903 miles away, but was one 20 miles away...duh!). It does not respond well with the touch screen and seems to have a mind of its own. If I hadn't had a Garmin, I would not have known how lousy it is. Would someone please steal this one so I can go back to Garmin????

I liked this model right out of the box. charged and ready to go.
So easy to setup,compact but easy to see screen,versitle.
You can not only use in your vehicle, but take it with you in the woods or
on your bike.

The only downside to this model is that if you update it with
there very easy to use update software, you lose all of
your saved favorite locations which is importanat to me.

A little pricey for updateing maps so hold off useing the one free update they
give you for as long as you can.

Over all this is terrific and I'm happy with purchase and
easy to see and here directions. Many custom features.

For the price I would highly recommend.

This is not the best GPS. I went on vacation and met my sister half way. Her GPS worked so much better. This one is hard to use, and doesn't seem to get the most direct routes. A couple times it gave me roads that weren't correct. I wouldn't recommend this.

The TomTom GPS Navigator is great for directions and maps. I like the fact that you can customize the various features by downloading optional graphics, voices, and icons from their website. I would say that this is a good buy for the price and recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a GPS navigation system that is not going to break the bank.

All I really need in a GPS is for it to properly tell me where I am, which direction i'm travelling, and to show me the map. This TomTom does exactly that.

2 things make this deserve 4 stars instead of 5:

a- It takes about a minute or so to find out where u are (when u just start it). I expected a shorter time.
b- Moving around in the map is NOT a delightful experience. When you try to pan the view (drag along the touchscreen), sometimes, instead of moving the map, TomTom goes a bit wacko and zooms in or points to a certain street. (they also could have spent more effort on the GUI and layout etc.)

But mainly, this gets you where you want, and has a nice price to it!
