I needed this because I have to dash-mount in my home state. It works, but the goose-neck is not going to hold it steadily like the basic mount you're used to -- It bounces quite a bit when driving about. Also, the goose-neck portion could have stood to be just a bit shorter. (I do like the mega-suction cup with the lever -- Holds very well compared to just a plain rubber suction cup.)

I drive an FJ Cruiser and it's hard to see the screen of my TomTom with the windshield being so far away and not sloped very much at all. The mount that comes standard with most TomTom navigation units is too stubby and doesn't allow for easy viewing in certain vehicles. This alternative mount is a wonderful option! The arm extends about a foot and you can shape it around gages/dashes/etc. It also comes with adapter plates for many different types of TomToms. $29.95 seems a bit pricey for something that maybe should have been included with the navigation unit to start with, but all in all, it does a wonderful job and now I can see the screen much easier.

I bought this for our TomTom 920 after a year of frustration with the provided mount.

It is easy to set up--I just picked the correct adapter for my 920 and snapped it into the mount. I live in a state where windshield mount is not legal, so I use a Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad. It has AWESOME suction--nice and strong. It doesn't tip over or come loose. We use the TomTom in multiple cars that require the arm to be bent in different positions and so far (a couple of weeks of use), the arm is still stiff and doesn't wobble.

I'm very happy with this mount and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to replace the lackluster mount TomTom sent with their GPS.

I ordered this mount mostly because I wanted the gooseneck and the AC louvre mounts. What was delivered was a different product that is designed so multiple Tom Tom models can be attached to the gooseneck mount: the One, the Go, and one other. I called Amazon and spoke to a CS agent who made notes about the error. She told me someone would get back to me but never did. I kept the delivered model because it has the gooseneck and works with my TomTom Go 730, and the gooseneck alone costs more than the delivered product. Not sure if the listed product is actually for sale or not since no one ever called or emailed back. Anyway, if you are looking for the AC louvre mount for the Go models, be aware that it is not necessarily included with the product sent unless they corrected their stock.

Also, the gooseneck tends to vibrate the GPS unit fairly easily on rough streets. This makes it difficult to give the GPS a quick glance. Probably better for freeway driving than heavy city street driving like I do.

Definately an upgrade from the standard, short mount.
Great suction power (make sure to activate the lever on the base).
A bit of vibration but that also depends on the car's ride.
Finally, I can see the screen in good detail!

I lost my Windshield Mount and bought this one.
I thought flexibility will be nice but it vibrates too much!
It's annoying.
I agree that suction is much better than the one that came but I just can't use a gps that makes me have to focus on it more time that I should because it is vibrating.

The original mounting kit for the TomTom 720 is too short. This one, on the otherhand, is a little too long. This is seen in a vibration that sets up once the car is underway. Too bad there isn't one that is about half the length of this one. That said, I still like it much, much better than what TomTom supplied. This one has a much superior window clamp than the one supplied by TomTom. Once clamped, it is there. Not so with the TomTom kit.

This is a great product, the mount the Tom Tom came with I did not like, as I drive a large SUV and can not mount anything to my front window and it was difficult to see. With this mount I can adjust it for the lighting, with the navi mat it is perfect for my dash and it is great. Highly recommended.

The length of the holder from window to gps is too long and shakes very much over 60mph however thats the cost for versitility. I love the fact that I can use my boyfriend or my gps with this and the sucksion cup is awsome and wont fall mid drive.

Unlike what the photo shows, there is no Vent mount, which is why I bought it. Until I find one I like, I have been using the longer articulating arm which is no bad, but is prone to wobble.
