The design of this mount leaves quite a bit to be desired.

The arm is not stiff enough, so the Tom Tom bounces quite a bit when driving on even relatively smooth roads.

The screws that hold the mounting plate to the arm are very small Torx screws and constantly work themselves loose. I will need to purchas a set of small Torx bits just to keep tightening these screws.

The suction cup mounting plate has a bit of 'slack' in the tension of the small rod that connects the cam to the suction cup. This also adds to the Tom Tom bouncing while driving.

Overall, I'm not very happy with the product.

We purchased this for our TomTom 920T since we have a minivan and it was impossible to reach with the standard mount. It worked great for about a week and then the unit fell... the screws that hold it in place were loose. After finally locating the tiny things we were able to tighten just enough to have the unit workable again. (We were on vacaction). Once home we tightened them all the way yet a week after that they came loose yet again. This time breaking one of the inside pieces. We were able to Shoe Goo them back into place and hopefully this will fix the problem completely. This is a great product and was a GREAT price on Amazon but if you don't want to fuss with having to continually screw the item back together keep looking.

I have a 2001 Cadillac Seville STS which is a large car and has a huge dashboard. The mount included with the TomTom 720 placed the unit too far away for me to effectively use and see it. The solution was to bring it closer to me. The Alternative Mount Kit did that but the 720 now has a bad case of the shakes. I modified the neck position in just about every way possible, but to no avail. Definitely consider this before purchasing.

it was a very good purchase. it was easy to connect and held the tom tom in a very comfortable position. well worth the money.

This mount worked for me on my Go 720. It seems to be a bit more rigid than I had hoped. I would have thought it would flex slightly easer. Other than that it's great

I could not use my TomTom go 720 without this mount kit. One that was in the box did not work for me. TomTom Alternative Mount Kit solved the problem.

I got this mount before I read all the reviews. It vibrates unacceptably, as others have reported. If I had not lost the packing I would have returned it. I got it because the TomTom 920 I have will not work with the Bracketron UFM-100BL using its windscreen mount. DO NOT BUY IT. If you do make sure you keep the packaging because I am sure you will want to return it.
Update:
I have now removed one end of the mount, cut the goose neck in half, and used superglue to put the end back on. The vibrations are no longer a problem, particular now the unit can be jammed against the windscreen.

I bought this product for Toyotal Avalon. Place it on the dashboard with my tom tom. I started driving within 5 minutes it fell off and would never stick back on. The sunction cup stinks and this product is a waste of money. Hope nobody else gets stuck with this.

This little add-on to the 720 series should have been included in the original packaging. It truly makes the difference in my car. Great Item.

This Tom-Tom accessory is a MUST HAVE.....it's sleek neck allows you to adjust the Tom-Tom to any position. LOVE IT!!
