TomTom Deluxe Leather Case for 4.3-inch XL and GO Series GPS

This item was a combo item with TomTom XL 340 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator . It fits the Tom Tom itself however on the back where the windshield attachment piece could not be placed into the case or it would not close properly.

I felt it was kinda useless because where am I suppose to put the windshield holder piece? Also this version of the Tom Tom did not have a place to put the strap on, so again it was useless.

Requested refund.

This product is good but not what I expected. I was looking for a storage container that would hold the TomTom and its mounting which this would not.

I bought this as a match for my TomTom, but it seems to be too small for it. I have to really wiggle and push the GPS unit to get it to fit and pulling it out is even harder. Maybe the leather is supposed to break in eventually, but right now it doesn't seem worth the trouble.

Nice case; fits the GO630 well and capable of providing protection to the unit. The latch is magnetic.
The strap is useless, and I cannot figure out why it is included. There is nowhere on the case to attach the strap. Running the attach strap lanyard under the magnetic latch proved a bad idea because it forces the case to open when carried by the strap.
If I could do this over again, I'd buy only the TomTom travel case; that includes a nylon storage case for the 630 sized units that could also double as an individual carry case. That said, at least I have a nice quality case for daily use when not packing the whole kit for a trip.

As mentioned by a previous reviewer the box lists on the side that "the strap is only for the TomTom XL model and will not work on the other models." Also, some people seem to think the strap attaches to the case but if you have the XL model the stap attaches directly to the XL GPS unit itself, not to leather case. It's the same idea as a strap that attaches to a camera -- you'd have a little cutout on the body of the camera and you thread the little loop of the strap through the cutout and then push the big look of the strap back through little loop to secure it. Even though I have the GO model and the strap doesn't work I do love the case. Nicely made.

The tomtom case is great, but it also isn't. I gave it a low star rating as you can't put the tomtom in it with the back on it, so you are always taking it apart. need a bigger case.

Purchased this case for my TT GO920. Fits perfectly. I wish they did have a little less expensive case though. As far as the strap, I've seen reviews here and other places that says the strap doesn't work. It does. The strap loop goes on the case flap fastener. It's not exactly the way I would have liked the strap to be fastened, but that is the way it works. Since the flap fastener is magnetic, if you pull on the strap with any force it will open the flap from the case. This could have been a better design.

The strap does not work with the 720 model. There is no way to attach it. Possibly it works with other models but not mine. The product description needs to be changed to reflect this. The case itself fits the 720 like a glove.

I still hold firm in my belief that TomTom makes a superior GPS, but in terms of their accessories, they really need to wake up.

I'm not saying this is a bad case. In fact it's a good... even great case, that provides a good fit for my TomTom 920. (After all, I did give it four stars.)

But, it's the ONLY case currently made by Tom Tom. They really need to make a less expensive case.

Considering I paid only three thirty-nine for this case, it is a tremendous value. Nicely made, great materials. And I read helpful submissions by other reviewers before purchase, so I knew it might be perfect for my Kodak Z915 camera, which it is - or will be when a bit of use loosens it up. I keep the camera and its ancillaries in a much larger bag but needed a protective small case for toting it around. I don't own a TomTom GPS and my Garmin lives in another case (a Navigon).

So I'm into creative packaging for my toys. Those who complained that there was no place to attach the nice strap that came with the case may have failed to read the small print that explained that the strap was for the GPS unit itself. I'm going to use my strap with my other leather case, the Navigon. Probably will sew a D-ring onto that. Like I said, creative use. Ha!
