One of the few good merengue cd's this year!,
By Ricardo (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tomame Amame (Audio CD)
It had been 2 years since Daniela had come out with a new album. But it was worth the wait. The arrangements on the merengue songs are quite catchy and they seem to be a cross between the usual merengue beat and "bomba" type of merengue.Overall the album is very upbeat and danceable and Daniela's voice sounds better than her previous album. Even the two ballads on the album are worth listening to especially "Por Tu Amor" (which she wrote the lyrics to.) Most notable songs would have to be "Baila", "Tomame, Amame", "Precisamente Esa", and "Cuanto Daria". Congratulations to Daniela for being one of the few merengueras out there that actually make a merengue album which is upbeat, danceable, and worth the buy.

Nice Merengue CD Without Detouring Too Much Into Pop/Ballads,

Tracks one and three are nice to dance to. Out of the nine songs on this CD, seven are straight ahead merengue. We need more female merengueras that concentrate on merengue for a change.
