It's a decent snapshot - if you're just starting out - it's a decent snapshot of whats out there but they don't know the Disney Cars series all that well. They seem unaware of that the first Desert series is really split into two distinct releases with some "no promos" ones worth much more (for example). None of the rest of the yearly series is very complete either. They don't seem to realize that a bunch of the cars from the World of Cars series has the NEW snipe. Or for the really rare stuff, they run low res photos since they don't actually have that item. The layout is still very 1960's old school - but that's the Tomart way - nothing is ever same sized.

Serious collectors who want the complete photo of every release of should check out the takefiveaday magazines. The ones from the TakeFive series is all high res and complete ... and that's the big thing - whats the point of a guide that is only about 65% complete? Overall, an ok starter one for little kids to look over but for serious collectors of this lineup, pretty inadequate in terms of release info, incomplete photos & design that is out of date.

The previous review I feel was biased and possibly written by the authors of Take5aday. This book is 10 times more detailed then those of take5aday and the photos are incredible. As a collector from the beginning of the cars line, this book conatins just about everything that was created and most importantly shows pictures of the packaging in which the take5 guys are missing. I can only think of a few things that were not pictured in this book. I have over 1000 cars in my collection and would consider myself an advanced collector and I highly recommend buying this book not only for the beninner but also the advanced collector.

If you are a Pixar Cars Collector, this Guide is a must have. It shows and discusses the value of the cars. It also gives some back round information, and puts them in chronological order. An excellent investment for any real Cars Fan.
